Q 1. Kindly give our readers an introduction to your business.

Ans: We are a local, family owned real estate investment company that wants to buy your home with Cash. Since 2007, we’ve purchased and sold over 350 homes ranging from bank-owned, short sales, estate sales, rental properties to just flat-out unwanted properties. We are centrally located in Yorkville IL, which means we can reach from Oakbrook to DeKalb, Elgin to Joliet, and beyond.

Q 2. Please give us a brief description of yourself

Ans: Jeff Nydegger and Kevin Hansen started buying homes back in 2007. Jeff is a U.S. Army Vet. serving in both Iraq and Afghanistan in the early 2000’s. Jeff loves spending time with his wife and kids, sports, fishing and working in the shop. He also has never said no to ice cream. Kevin has lived in the Fox Valley area for nearly 30 years and graduated with a business degree from Aurora University in 2003. He loves his wife and 4 kids, serving Jesus, hunting and fishing, and is passionate about our business!

Q 3. What inspired you to start a new business venture?

Ans: I was exposed to rental real estate and other types of real estate investments from family members at a young age. I was always interested in houses. With a strong background in construction and remodeling it seemed to only make sense to jump into buying and remodeling properties and then reselling them for a profit.

Q 4. What three pieces of advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs?

Ans: Working for yourself is hard!
Shoot for the stars but plan on a realistically lower return on investment/time than you think…or than you have been told by others.
Have fun. If you are in a business you don’t like, then you likely won’t do well. You should love what you do!

Q 5. What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?

Ans: Be honest. Seriously, you have to have integrity and be willing to always add value to others to grow your organization.
Its takes hard, efficient work. You won’t always get paid or compensated for effort…. everyone on your team (including you) must perform!
Listen! Be a listener not only to clients or prospects but also to your team.

Q 6. How many hours do you work a day on average?

Ans: 9 hrs. give or take. Most things can be done Monday through Friday but occasionally we work on the weekends as necessary. Our family comes first here at Kendall Partners Ltd

Q 7. To what do you most attribute your success?

Ans: Hard work and the Lord’s favor. My family has always had my back – through thick and thin.

Q 8. How do you go about marketing your business? What has been your most successful form of marketing?

Ans: We have done most types of marketing from digital ads and campaigns to old fashioned snail direct mail. Best source by far has been referrals from past clients or other professionals we know. Second would be direct mail.

Q 9. Where did your organizations funding/capital come from and how did you go about getting it?

Ans: Over the years we have accumulated a very small group of private lenders and investors to fund our CASH purchases as we buy more and more homes. Some of these individuals have been family and others are closely held business associates that are looking for a return. As we have grown, so have our investors and lenders balances and willingness to ‘throw more in’. We have always provided a very high return with little to no risk for those involved.

Q 10.What is the best way to achieve long-term success?

Ans: Small consistent action over time creates results. We firmly believe that our businesses can be successful for generations only if we continue a tradition of honesty, integrity & faithful stewardship while always striving to serve the Lord Jesus Christ in all we do.

Q 11. Where do see yourself and your business in 5 – 10 years?

Ans: We hope to continue buying and selling real estate. That could be 30 homes per year or maybe 300 homes per year in multiple markets. We would also like to continue building our apartment rental portfolio.
