An Interview with Dr. Erinn Harris – Harris Internal Medicine

by | Mar 12, 2026 | Medical Equipment Supplier

Kindly give our readers an introduction to your business. Please include what your business is all about, in which city you are located and if you have offices in multiple locations/cities.

Harris Internal Medicine is a concierge-style internal medicine practice based in Peachtree City, Georgia. As a board-certified Internal Medicine physician with specialty training in Functional, we provide comprehensive primary care with an emphasis on functional medicine, prevention, and holistic wellness. In addition to traditional internal medicine, we offer advanced wellness services through our sister brand, Wellness by Dr. Harris. We currently serve patients from our Peachtree City office and support many who travel from the greater Atlanta area for care.

Kindly give us a brief description about yourself (it should include your brief educational or entrepreneurial background and list some of your major achievements).

I’m a board-certified internal medicine physician with a passion for personalized, relationship-driven care. My background includes traditional hospital and outpatient medicine, but over time I became increasingly focused on prevention, hormone optimization, and proactive health strategies. Building Harris Internal Medicine allowed me to design a practice centered on time, access, and deeper patient relationships—rather than volume-based medicine. One of my proudest achievements has been creating a model where patients feel heard, supported, and empowered in their health journey.

What inspired you to start a new business venture or to make significant changes in an existing business? How did the idea for your business come about?

I saw too many patients frustrated by rushed visits and reactive care. I wanted to create a space where we could slow down, ask better questions, and address root causes—not just symptoms. The idea grew from years of clinical experience and patient conversations. It became clear that there was a need for a more thoughtful, comprehensive approach to internal medicine.

What three pieces of advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs?

  1. Know your purpose and build off of that
  2. Surround yourself with people who will support you, cheer you on, and challenge you.
  3. Stay patient—growth that lasts is rarely instant.

What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?

Having a clear vision, being resilient, and the ability to communicate clearly—both with your team and your clients or patients.

How many hours do you work a day on average?

It varies, but on average 9–11 hours per day, especially during growth phases. As an owner, the work extends beyond clinical hours into leadership, strategy, and team development.

To what do you most attribute your success?

Consistency and trust. In medicine especially, long-term relationships and a reputation for integrity matter more than anything else.

How do you go about marketing your business? What has been your most successful form of marketing?

Our most effective marketing has been patient referrals and community relationships. We also use digital marketing, educational content, and strategic online advertising to reach patients who are looking for a more comprehensive approach to care. Clear messaging around who we serve and how we’re different has been key.

Where did your organization’s funding/capital come from and how did you go about getting it? How did you obtain investors for your venture?

The practice was initially funded through personal investment and reinvested revenue. We chose to grow intentionally and sustainably rather than rely heavily on outside investors. That approach has allowed us to maintain clinical and operational control.

What is the best way to achieve long-term success?

Focus on culture, service, and systems. Building strong operational foundations and prioritizing the experience of the people you serve goes a long way.

Where do you see yourself and your business in 5–10 years?

In the next 5–10 years, I see Harris Internal Medicine expanding its impact—deepening our work in longevity medicine, advanced diagnostics, and integrative care. I also see continued growth in our wellness services, with a strong emphasis on education and prevention.

Excluding yours, what company or business do you admire the most?

I admire other physicians who have also chosen to take a holistic approach when caring for their patients.
