    • Kindly give us a brief description about yourself (it should include your brief educational or entrepreneurial background and list some of your major achievements).

    • Payam Vahedifar, M.D. is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and pain medicine and has been practicing in these specialties for more than 10 years. A specialist in non-surgical and interventional treatment and pain management of the musculoskeletal system, he is qualified to treat any patient in need of his comprehensive, innovative services for joint and spine pain relief. He holds appointments at UCLA Los Angeles Orthopedic Hospital, as well as Providence Tarzana, Providence St. Josephs, and West Hills Hospital.

    • Dr. Vahedifar graduated with honors from UCLA and then graduated from Tulane University College of Medicine, where he did extensive research on nerve-associated pain. He completed residency training at UCLA Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Multi-Campus Residency and its affiliated hospitals, including Shriners Hospital for Children, Wadsworth Veterans Administration, Orthopedic Hospital, and Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center. After residency, Dr. Vahedifar continued his training under the head of orthopedic spine surgery at Orthopedic Hospital and completed postgraduate training in spine and interventional spine treatments.

    • What inspired you to (start a new business venture) or (to make significant changes in an existing business)? How did the idea for your practice come about?

    1. Started the practice for one reason and one reason alone. Wanted to have a practice the same idea of healthcare to treat every patient as a family member and ultimately it came down to the idea.

    • What three pieces of advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs?

    1. 1. Don’t set any limits

    2. Understand anything you go thru without quality – there will never be success

    3. Don’t make the financial reward your primary objective, the main objective would be how well you do whatever you are doing and the financial reward will follow-but never ever make the financial reward your primary

    • What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?

    1. Relatability to your peers and customers

    2. drive and diligence

    3. Making mistakes and learning from it and not being afraid to follow your instinct even if you make a mistake but learning from it.

    • How many hours do you work a day on average?

    • To what do you most attribute your success?
      Never setting limits and never feeling I can’t reach my goal

    • How do you go about marketing your practice? What has been your most successful form of marketing?
      Word of mouth thru other patients

    • What is the best way to achieve long-term success?
      Never letting the quality of care diminish always having staff that reflect that quality of care and always being caring to patients and their families.

    • Where do you see yourself and your practice in 5 – 10 years?
      Having Multiple doctors that share the same philosophy in multiple locations with growth aimed at convenience for our patients.

    • Excluding yours, what company or business do you admire the most? Uber because they have completely disrupted the transportation industry with their focus being on the consumer and the convenience.

    • How important have good employees been to your success?
      It’s the most important part of my success. Employees are as much patient outcome, they help the patient feel they are taken care of.

    • How long do you stick with an idea before giving up?
      Never if I believe in it.

    • What motivates you?
      building , creating relationships, building bridges with people

    • What are your ideals?
      Reach a standard of care in our clinic that is unmatched anywhere else in pain management that ideal involves not just the physician in the practice but the global environment including staff and how we run our business.

    • How do you generate new ideas?
      Reading , thinking how simple things can be improved

    • How do you define success?

    • How do you build a successful patient base?
      Giving quality service

    • What is your favorite aspect of being an entrepreneur?
      Freedom to make choices

    • What has been your most satisfying moment in your practice?
      A patient that went from being suicidal to having pain relief, changed his personality; his life.

    • What do you feel is the major difference between entrepreneurs and those who work for someone else?
      Entrepreneur Expand and grow and they like to have their ideas come to life and grow

    • What kind of culture exists in your organization? How did you establish this tone and why did you institute this particular type of culture?
      Primary based on how we want our family members treated and I implemented that in our setting – family gets taken care of

    • In one word, characterize your life as an entrepreneur :
      Insatiable

    • If you had the chance to start your career over again, what would you do differently?
      Take more chances and believe more in myself and not be scared of failure because failure teaches you more.

    • How has being an entrepreneur affected your family life?
      There are good and bad. Sacrifices being made. The good, I work for myself and I work harder , I also have more control of my own time. The Negative I work longer hours but the positive if I choose not to work long hours I could change that. It’s a commitment.

    • How did you decide on the location for your practice?
      Prior to my current office-I was in a big group of physicians and I decided to stay in the area where I had most of my referrals and I chose the second office location in Beverly Hills based off of where I had a lot of my friends that are physicians and attorneys.

    • Do you believe there is some sort of pattern or formula to becoming a successful entrepreneur?
      Never giving up, seek information from others, take advice from others and learn from other people’s mistakes. Most people have a drive that they are most in competition with themselves then others.

    • If you could talk to one person from history, who would it be and why?
      Gandi , because he was one person that figured out how to be so influential in a positive way for so many people both from Indians and the British empire, he was influential on his peers and enemies.

    • Who has been your greatest inspiration?
      My children, start see the world from their eyes-they don’t see limits in there world they see the world as limitless, they just go for what they want.

    • What book has inspired you the most? (OR what is your favorite book?)
      The four agreements

    • What are your hobbies? What do you do in your non-work time?
      I like to read, I love photography

    • What makes you happy?
      Family time and experiences in life make me happy that involve family and friends.

    • What sacrifices have you had to make to be a successful entrepreneur?
      School, making choices between now and later. Whether it’s taking a vacation now or waiting for it. financial decisions yu make. You can have a little bit now and plant a seed and have a lot letter. You puta fiancual strain because you know that seed will grow and bloom
