Q. Please give our readers an introduction to your business. Please include what your business is all about, in which city you are located and if you have offices in multiple locations/ cities.
A. The Studio Med Spa is a locally owned business in Parker Colorado. The Studio was designed to offer clients all things beauty, wellness and spa related in one place with experienced staff who will guide you through your aesthetic needs. Our goal is to deliver cutting edge products and services in a medical environment to get the most corrective lasting results in a luxurious environment.
Q. Give us a brief description about yourself (it should include your brief educational or entrepreneurial background and list some of your major achievements).
A. Prior to opening the Studio med spa I invested my time in building businesses and teams for larger corporations. Over the course of twenty plus years I learned to deliver optimal service by growing and developing teams. As a graduate of business with degree in Leadership and Organizational Development it was time to use my degree and branch out on my own to build something truly amazing for the south Denver communities.
Q. What inspired you to (start a new business venture) or (to make significant changes in an existing business)? How did the idea for your business come about?
A. As I entered my forties I was becoming more health conscience and noticing the changes to my skin and body. There were so many services and providers available, health coaches, medical aestheticians, MLMs, medical weight loss and Instagram coaches it was overwhelming and I began to question my own beauty. I traveled all over trying to find the best of the best in the industry. I got my brows waxed at the Pedicure salon, my Coolsculpting and Botox done downtown, joined a gym, followed people online, got massage and facial treatments at chain spas and was kind of self guided on journey. We needed one place with educators and skilled providers with all these things in one place. A spa where you could see the same person who truly new your goals and guided you with product and treatments. It was also very important to me that there is no ideal image portrayed or body shaming. The truth is one client may come in to change something and the very next client may be asking how to get that very same thing. At the Studio we help you find your best self, whatever that is.
Q. How does one know whether a medical spa is safe and compliant?
A. My advice is to follow your gut first! Is the space clean, professional and using tools like consultations, informed consent and do they have a medical director who is available for questions and concerns? No medical procedure or treatment should be sold to you without a consultation and brief medical questionnaire. At the Studio we offer free consultations with our treatment coordinator who will give you options that vary on a scale of non-invasive to moderately invasive procedures that meet any budget.
Q. What are the services offered at the Studio Med Spa?
A. We are a full-service spa, meaning day spa treatments like massage and facials as well as medical treatments like micro-needling with stem cell treatments and Coolsculpting. Many of our clients are on wellness journeys so we have a full spectrum Infrared Sauna, B12 injections and sports massage to help boost your programs. Our injector was nominated as a RealSelf Fan Favorite in Denver and can help with anti-aging and corrective dermal injections like Juvéderm or Botox. For those wanting a little beauty boost we offer Eyelash extensions, custom heated spray tans and locally made jewelry and skin care.
Q. What type of skin rejuvenation services do you offer?
A. All things skin rejuvenation start with a skin consolation with an aesthetician. From there we have many types of services to pamper and correct skin. My favorite is the MicroPeel Oxygenation Facial. Microdermabrasion or dermaplaning removes the dead surface cells to allow the chemical peels to penetrate more evenly and effectively while revealing smoother skin instantly. The peel has the ability to improve collagen and elastin and improve texture and tone at a cellular level. Lastly, oxygenation stimulates your blood and lymph system to bring to oxygen and nutrients to the cells so they have what they need for collagen and elastin production.
Q. What is Microneedling and how does it work?
A. Microneedling (also known as collagen induction therapy) is a non-invasive treatment to rejuvenate the skin. A device with fine needles creates tiny punctures in the top layer of the skin, which triggers the body to create new collagen and elastin. Results can include improved texture and firmness, as well as a reduction in scars, pore size, and stretch marks.
Q. What is the difference between a day spa and a medical spa?
A. The true differentiator is the ability to use and sell medical grade products. Anyone with a basic skin care regimen will see results with most product lines. With a medical grade product, you can achieve fast and lasting changes to the skin. It rebuilds the skin at a cellular level and corrects years of damage quickly.
Q. What are Medical Spa Policies?
A. We like to keep things pretty simple at the Studio. Our membership is month to month and unused services carry forward. We ask that you cancel 24 hours prior to your service so we may open up that time slot to another client. Confidentiality and treating everyone with an open mind and acceptance is what makes us a place people continue to come back to.
Q. How does CoolSculpting work?
A. Well it’s amazing. In simplest terms, it is a controlled freeze to a pocket or channel of fatty tissue. Once frozen, usually 35-minute treatment the fat cells release their contents and the cell goes through cell death and is eliminated from the body. What it is not is a weight loss treatment. We sculpt out areas that overtime have protruded from the body, created a roll or are just hard to exercise away. I have done it several times myself and when my friends started to see the change in my body they began doing it. That’s when I knew I had to buy a machine and offer it to everyone.
Q. What are the benefits of CoolSculpting?
A. I will tell you my personal experience. I lost about 40 pounds and went from a size 14/16 to a size 10. I noticed while much smaller I was the same shape. After a full year of exercise, I had a muffin top and bra fat, smaller but still there. With Coolsculpting, I was able to freeze those trouble spots off. That made the difference and I got into a size 8. Today two years later my average daily weight is about 12 pounds higher. I am not starving myself to get those last few areas down. It is permanent change to the shape I was born with. I will say everyone responds different. Q. How safe is CoolSculpting?
A. Super safe! It is a surprisingly simple process. We apply a gel pad to protect the skin, apply and applicator that isolates the fatty pocket and administers a controlled freeze. The skin and other tissue are not susceptible to freezing and you go home and resume daily life right away. There may be some swelling or tenderness.
Q. Are there any side effects? ( these are the side effects we have on our concent. It may be too much detail? )
None that we expect to see regularly. For most cases, and all that I have treated personally people have no side effects other than minor swelling or tenderness in the area treated. There are a few potential risk the company reports. A small number less than half a percent of patients have experienced gradual development of a firmer enlargement, of varying size and shape, of the treatment area, known as “paradoxical hyperplasia” If such paradoxical hyperplasia occurs, it can be removed by means of a surgical procedure such as liposuction.
Treatment area demarcation — A small number of patients respond so well they have experienced excessive fat removal in the treatment area, resulting in an indentation. The indentation may be improved through corrective procedures.
In rare cases, patients have reported the CoolSculpting treatment area to have darker skin color, hardness, (local injury due to cold), or if you have a pre-existing hernia it can be worsened.
Q. Will one need any health supplements?
A. We do not proscribe any supplements or weight loss aftercare. Coolsclupting is permanent removal of fat cells. We do have specialist in the field of wellness, wieght loss, diet and nutrition that we refer to.
Q. What if one has some special medical conditions?
A. We hope to discuss and medical history or concerns in the consultation. Often, they do not contraindicate our services. When in doubt we consult our medical director. Together our team of medical staff, aesthetic providers and the client we will find the best treatment plan to help clients meet their goals

Q. What is the cancellation policy?
A. It is simple, cancel within 24 hours of your appointment. If you are member we reserve the right to charge against that months service. We do have a policy to charge 50% of the service fee if not cancelled prior to 24 hours of your scheduled appointment. That said, we get things happen.
