Ans: Established in September 2011, kekei Salon & Beauty Lounge is a family owned and managed full service salon located in the heart of Boston’s Fenway Park neighborhood. We provide the best hair, skin, and nail services for men, women, and children. We specialize in curly hair of all types. The beauty and health of out fabulous clientele comes first .
Q: Kindly give us a brief description about yourself (it should include your brief educational or entrepreneurial background and list some of your major achievements).
Ans: I am Kekei Baptiste and grew up in an entrepreneurial famly environment. I earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Bentley University and a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Mercy College and have salon management and corporate experience.
Q: What ignited the spark in you to (start a new business venture) or (to make significant changes in an existing business)? How did the idea for your business come about?
Ans: Working as a salon manager in the past, I’ve always dreamed of owning my own salon since I was a kid.
Q: How important have good employees been to your success?
Ans: Friendly beauty professionals that provide quality services are very important in a service based business.
Q: What three pieces of advice would you give to college students who want to become entrepreneurs?
Ans: Save money because cash is the lifeblood of a business, don’t cut corners when it comes to the quality and value you provide to your clients, and persevere no matter how hard it gets as a small business owner….you will see it through.
Q: If you had the chance to start your career over again, what would you do differently?
Ans: Not for the world.
