Metro Movers is all about moving those in need at affordable rates. We focus on the customer experience and how we make moving an enjoyable process. Our office is located in New Hope, MN. - Kindly give us a brief description about yourself (it should include your brief educational or entrepreneurial background and list some of your major achievements).
Kit Ingersoll, Graduated from Minnesota State University Mankato in Dec. of 2019. I have a major in marketing and a minor in entrepreneurship. During the IBE practicum of creating your own business @MNSU the team I was on profited and donated $1,471 to LEEP.
I enjoy working out and spending time with friends outside of work. - What inspired you to (start a new business venture) or (to make significant changes in an existing business)?
I started working for a large corporate moving company that I can’t name because I don’t want to tarnish their image. Working there showed me how terribly a moving company could be run, and motivated me to make changes in the moving industry. Moving should be affordable for everyone. - How did the idea for your business come about?
During orientation at the moving company I mentioned I won’t name above, it clicked with me that this was the business I wanted to start! - What three pieces of advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs?
Don’t give up! Not everything is going to click right away. There were trials and errors with businesses before Metro Movers was founded. Stay focused – what you put in is what you get out! Find like-minded people who have the same goal in mind as you for your workforce. - What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?
Determination, Resiliency, and a hard work ethic. - How many hours do you work a day on average?
It varies from day to day, but we’re open 7 days a week from 8AM-6PM. I’d say on any given day it can range between 8-12 hours,
including on the weekends!
