Q.1 Kindly give our readers an introduction to your business. Please include what your business is all about, in which city you are located and if you have offices in multiple locations/ cities.
Ans. Founded in 2014 by Phil & Janet Aitken, the Phil Aitken Team exists to assist the great people of Jacksonville, Florida in all real estate endeavors. From buying to selling or investing, our team works diligently to help others achieve their real estate goals. Q.2 Kindly give us a brief description about yourself (it should include your brief educational or entrepreneurial background and list some of your major achievements).
Ans. I earned my real estate license in 2005. The 2009 recession forced me into internet marketing and business-to-business sales as I had no job, no savings and no alternate source of income. In 2014 I returned to real estate and developed a vision to build a multi-faceted, team-driven business. I launched said business only one month later, hired a Director of Operations and closed the year with nineteen home sales at a total volume of $3,706,171. The following year, my team and I nearly doubled final sales volume at 33 sales totaling $6,226,650. We went tripled total service experiences in 2016 closing seventy-four transactions totaling $18,495,970. In 2017 we conducted 113 transaction experiences with a volume of $25,731,578. In 2018, we closed over 130 transactions totaling in excess of $34,000,000 servicing more than 200 families. My team has made the list of top ten in volume of home sales each month, thriving on a nearly 70% repeat clientele/customer referral basis. We are projecting a total sales volume of $82,000,000, with a goal of assisting 330 families next year and 500 families in three years. Q.3 What inspired you to (start a new business venture) or (to make significant changes in an existing business)? How did the idea for your business come about?
Ans. Gary Keller’s book, “The Millionaire Real Estate Agent”, has been instrumental in Phil’s life. It was this publication and the near loss of his home in 2009 which drove Phil to build a business that would sustain his family regardless of life circumstances.
Q.4 What three pieces of advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs?
Ans. 1. “Rip off & duplicate” as enthusiastically stated by Phil! Work smarter, not harder! Find a PROVEN model and duplicate it! Why innovate when you can simply duplicate? 2. Don’t hire employees! Hire leaders to build your team. Leaders will keep you accountable. Surround yourself with them. 3. Create several unique selling propositions and guarantees for your clientele.
