An Interview With The Owner Of No Boundaries Marketing Group

by | Oct 9, 2019 | Internet Marketing

Q: Kindly give our readers an introduction to your business. Please include what your business is all about, in which city you are located and if you have offices in multiple locations/ cities.

Ans: For the past decade or so, we have found ourselves working for various agencies, both large and small, freelancing work here and there with an overwhelming dissatisfaction at the end of the day. Why? Well, we had to dig deep to really figure that out. After a rough week, we sat down to share our sob stories. The conclusion was that despite our best efforts, customer relationships were being sacrificed for a number on the balance sheet. Clients were not being charged fairly and terms were being changed without the client knowing… The end result wasn’t what the client thought they were getting! Well, we all know what happens then, you burn a bridge. Good luck seeing them in the grocery store on Saturday afternoon! When investors are behind the wheel, it is all about profit. Slowly but surely, customers would leave us in search of greener pastures… Slowly but surely, that wears on you over time.

We vowed, when the time was right, our next step was open a different type of agency, we wanted to truly do something different. Without investors driving the bottom line, we formulated a business model that focused on our customer. This model wouldn’t have tiers and packages or hidden charges, instead, every business would be evaluated and priced based on the individual needs of that business. Another key differentiator would be our transparency. We spent months putting together the best and brightest group of nerds possible who shared our vision of what success looked like. Together, we developed a revolutionary dashboard that provides real time updates to clients to include the status of their project, outstanding tasks, and the results that we have generated. Together, we can help businesses manage their local visibility, track activities transparently, get reports & view performance of their campaign – all in a single place.

Finally, when the time was right, in May of 2019, we launched No Boundaries Marketing Group and haven’t looked back since!

Q: Kindly give us a brief description about yourself (it should include your brief educational or entrepreneurial background and list some of your major achievements).

Ans: MBA with a Concentration in Marketing

Q: What three pieces of advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs?

Ans: 1. Stay the course. Everyone has a skill set that they can bring to the table. Recognizing your value is very important or someone will take advantage of you.

2. Work ethic is critical. Avoiding distractions and keeping focused is challenging at times and you will be tested. Keep on track and have a system in place that will help you recognize when you have gone into left field…

3. Excel in customer service. In this world, what will set entrepreneurs apart from the big fish is personalized service and accountability.

Q: What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?

Ans: 1. Focus

2. Determination

3. Integrity

Q: How many hours do you work a day on average?

Ans: 60 – 70

Q: To what do you most attribute your success?

Ans: Communication skills. Being able to effectively communicate is another critical factor to have when owning your own business. Making sure that everyone is on the same page sets proper expectations which allows you to better manage a client relationship.

Q: How do you go about marketing your business? What has been your most successful form of marketing?

Ans: We source nearly 90% of our business from word of mouth and direct referrals. We are known for doing things a little different. Providing that personalized service where we don’t nickle and dime every customer for every little thing has built tremendous loyalty among our clients.

Q: Where did your organizations funding/capital come from and how did you go about getting it?

Ans: We funded our business startup from our personal savings!

Q: What is the best way to achieve long-term success?

Ans: Operate with integrity in everything you do. Don’t be afraid to tell a customer you made a mistake. Even if that ends up costing you a relationship, it is important to keep things honest.

Anther means to achieving long-term success is recognizing your value. Sadly, we didn’t do this in the beginning and we ended up working long hours for virtually nothing. A solid client relationship is one that is mutually beneficial, not one sided.

Q: Where you see yourself and your business in 5 – 10 years?

Ans: In 5 – 10 years, I expect to expand the business responsibly and grow our portfolio of services. We hope to bring on additional like-minded customer focused Marketing Strategists that will take our business to a whole new level!

Q: How important have good employees been to your success?

Ans: Having the right people in place is another extremely important part of owning a business. We are small but mighty and one of our goals is to grow responsibly. That means thoroughly vetting a potential candidate and making sure they believe in the same vision that we do. We encourage our entire staff to bring “thought provoking ideas” to the table each week during our staff meetings. Something that is maybe outside the box. We’ve all heard the concept of “don’t bring problems to the table, bring solutions” and this is very similar. We want everyone to bring a challenge, success, idea, and concept to the table each week. We talk about the who, what, when, where, and why’s and then we discuss how we might implement or improve! This is critical to the growth of our company.

Q: What motivates you?

Ans: What motivates us is simple. Customer satisfaction. We have a 97% customer satisfaction rate for a reason. We give our clients 100% every single day.

Q: How do you define success?

Ans: Success to us is not defined by how much money we make or material objects. It is defined by our job joy. How happy are we in the workplace. From the great Mark Twain, “Find a job you enjoy doing, and you’ll never have to work a day in your life!”

Q: What do you feel is the major difference between entrepreneurs and those who work for someone else?

Ans: The biggest difference that we have noticed is the devotion to your clients. When you work for someone else, it isn’t that your heart isn’t in it, but for most people, the paycheck will come regardless. When your an entrepreneur, that client is the paycheck so they become a little more important to you.
