A. The Law Office of Joseph R. Fasone specializes in criminal defense of all offenses including felonies, misdemeanors, DUI, and traffic violations. The main office is located in downtown Fort Lauderdale, Florida, but the firm services all of South Florida including Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade Counties. Joseph R. Fasone, Esq. personally handles each step of the client’s representation and is always available to speak with his clients as much as is necessary.
Q. Kindly give us a brief description about yourself (it should include your brief educational or entrepreneurial background and list some of your major achievements).
A. Joseph R. Fasone is a Florida native. In 1991, he graduated from the Shepherd Broad Law Center at Nova University (now known as Nova Southeastern) and interned at the Public Defender’s Office in Broward County. Upon completion of his internship, he accepted the position of Assistant Public Defender in the Juvenile Division, then in 1993, he was promoted to the Felony Trial Unit where he represented hundreds of clients charged with a multitude of felony offenses including Robbery, Burglary, Drug Charges, and other violent crimes.
In 1996, Mr. Fasone entered private practice and continued his specialty in Criminal Defense.
Q. What inspired you to (start a new business venture) or (to make significant changes in an existing business)? How did the idea for your business come about?
A. I chose to enter private practice because I prefer to be independent and determine my own destiny. It is a thrilling and rewarding experience to start a new business and accept all the responsibilities that come along. Everyday is a new experience.
Q. What three pieces of advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs?
A. 1. Be true to yourself – Do what you love, love what you do.
2. Don’t take “no” for an answer if you know you can do better.
3. Hire the right people and know how to delegate.
Q. What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?
A. You must have a master plan, know how to prioritize, and be willing to work hard to execute the plan.
Q. How many hours do you work a day on average?
A. I am always working in some form or another. I don’t watch the clock.
Q. To what do you most attribute your success?
A. Perseverance
Q. How do you go about marketing your business? What has been your most successful form of marketing?
A. I advertise through several on-line services and other web-based listings, but in the legal community, word of mouth or personal referrals are the most successful source of marketing.
Q. How do you build a successful customer base?
A. One client at a time. By offering top personal service and giving every client my best effort which often shows in the results achieved. The client is aware of my hard work and is often pleased with the outcome and that client becomes a referral source.
Q. How has being an entrepreneur affected your family life?
A. It can become a strain at times, and has affected the quality time.
