Q 1.Kindly give our readers an introduction to your business. Please include what your business is all about, in which city you are located and if you have offices in multiple locations/ cities.

Ans: MailClickConvert is a bulk cold email software that offers a unique solution for email marketing and outreach. Unlike other bulk email platforms that require opt-in lists or limit the number of emails you can send, MailClickConvert allows you to safely send mass email blasts to any purchased list, whether it’s business or consumer. The software also provides advanced features such as personalization, tracking, analytics, and spam prevention. MailClickConvert is based in Chicago, Illinois, but serves clients all over the world, for B2B lead generation and managed email marketing services to help businesses who want to reach their target audience effectively and efficiently.

Q 2. Kindly give us a brief description about yourself (it should include your brief educational or entrepreneurial background and list some of your major achievements).

Ans: My name is Malik Shamsuddin, and I am the co-founder and CEO of MailClickConvert, a leading bulk email service for purchased lists. Our tool is designed to help businesses with B2B lead generation and cold email marketing, ensuring effective outreach and engagement.
I hold an MBA with a specialization in marketing from Keller Graduate School of Management. My entrepreneurial journey began at the age of 16 in my parents’ basement, where I started my first business. This early experience taught me valuable problem-solving skills, which I have since applied to creating tools and solutions that address the needs of my clients.
Over the years, I have launched over 13 successful brands and assisted numerous businesses in increasing their revenue and achieving successful exits. My passion for innovation and dedication to solving problems have been the driving forces behind my success and the success of those I work with.

Q 3. What inspired you to (start a new business venture) or (to make significant changes in an existing business)? How did the idea for your business come about?

Ans:The inspiration to start MailClickConvert came from a shared vision with my co-founder, Jonathan. We observed that many businesses struggled to find a consistent and cost-effective way to generate leads. Traditional methods such as cold calling, direct advertising, and other lead generation tactics, while effective, often proved to be very expensive and unsustainable for many companies.
Recognizing this gap, we decided to create a solution that would leverage the power of bulk email marketing. Our goal was to provide businesses with an affordable yet highly effective tool for B2B lead generation and cold email marketing. This led to the birth of MailClickConvert, a platform designed to help businesses reach their target audience efficiently without breaking the bank.
Our approach is rooted in the belief that lead generation should be accessible and scalable, enabling businesses of all sizes to grow and thrive. This vision has driven us to continuously innovate and improve our offerings, ensuring that our clients can achieve their marketing goals with ease and confidence.

Q 4. What three pieces of advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs?

Ans: 1. Learn from Every Experience:

Remember, you’ve only truly failed if you give up or fail to learn from the experience. Every setback is an opportunity to grow and improve, so embrace challenges and use them to refine your approach.

2 Think Big, Start Small:

While it’s important to have grand visions and ambitious goals, always begin with manageable steps. Starting small allows you to test your ideas, make necessary adjustments, and scale up sustainably as you gain more insights and resources.

3 Focus on Solving Customer Problems:

The core of any successful business is its ability to solve problems for its customers. Always prioritize understanding your customers’ needs and developing solutions that address their challenges. This customer-centric approach will drive loyalty and long-term success.

Q 5. What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?

Ans: Passion:

Passion is the driving force behind any successful venture. It fuels your motivation, keeps you focused on your goals, and helps you persevere through challenges and setbacks.

Risk Tolerance:

Entrepreneurship involves taking risks and stepping out of your comfort zone. It’s not for the faint-hearted. Being able to tolerate and manage risks is crucial for navigating the uncertainties of building and growing a business.

Systemization:

The ability to systemize processes is essential for scalability. Successful businesses thrive on having efficient systems in place that ensure consistency, quality, and the ability to grow without being bogged down by operational complexities. A well-designed system allows you to replicate success and scale your solutions effectively.

Q 6. How many hours do you work a day on average?

Ans: In the beginning, I worked 10-12 hours a day to build a solid foundation for the business. However, after establishing a strong team and efficient systems, I now have much more flexibility. Some days, I work 3-4 hours, while other days it may extend to 10 hours, depending on what needs to be accomplished. For me, it’s not about the number of hours worked each day, but rather about ensuring that the essential tasks are completed effectively and efficiently.

Q 7. To what do you most attribute your success?

Ans: I attribute my success to determination, resilience, and an unyielding drive to succeed. I’ve failed seven times before achieving my first successful business. Real-life experience teaches lessons that school cannot. It takes not only the determination to keep going but also the guts to execute your plans and take risks. This combination of drive and courage has been fundamental to my entrepreneurial journey and success.

Q 8. How do you go about marketing your business? What has been your most successful form of marketing?

Ans: I primarily use cold emailing, as it remains one of the most cost-effective ways to generate leads. In addition to cold emailing, I leverage various other marketing strategies including Google Ads, Facebook Ads, LinkedIn, SEO, and content marketing. Each of these channels plays a crucial role in reaching different segments of our target audience and driving business growth.

Q 9. Where did your organizations funding/capital come from and how did you go about getting it? How did you obtain investors for your venture?

Ans: All of our funding came from my co-founder Jonathan’s and my own pockets. We never sought any outside investors or external funding. Everything was bootstrapped from the beginning. This approach allowed us to maintain complete control over our business and grow it according to our vision and values.

Q 10. What is the best way to achieve long-term success?

Ans: Long-term success comes from continuous innovation and never getting too comfortable. Market conditions constantly change, and your business must evolve to keep up. Always be prepared to adapt and improve, as competitors will always be striving to take your place. Stay ahead by being proactive and innovative.

Q 11. Where you see yourself and your business in 5 – 10 years?

Ans: In 5-10 years, I see myself and MailClickConvert becoming the trusted solution for email marketing. Our goal is to be the go-to platform for businesses seeking reliable, effective, and innovative email marketing solutions. We aim to continuously evolve and adapt to market changes, ensuring we remain at the forefront of the industry.

Q 12. Excluding yours, what company or business do you admire the most?

Ans: I greatly admire Cost Plus Drugs by Mark Cuban. He is disrupting an industry that has been taking advantage of consumers for too long and is in serious need of innovation. His approach to providing affordable medications is both inspiring and necessary, highlighting the importance of putting consumers first and challenging the status quo.
