The R&B Bed and Breakfast is a newly remodeled 145 year old home on world famous Frenchmen Street. The colorful six bedroom, seven bathroom home features 14 foot ceilings, antique furnishings and high end mattresses & linens. The living room, formal dining room, breakfast room and courtyard are for all to enjoy.
- Kindly give us a brief description about yourself (it should include your brief educational or entrepreneurial background and list some of your major achievements).
Owners Rita and Bil (brother and sister) acquired the home at the end of 2013 with dreams of refurbishing the dilapidated mansion. Rita’s education and passion for design finally had a palate to be dressed. After tireless months of renovation, the R&B Bed and Breakfast was born.
- What inspired you to (start a new business venture) or (to make significant changes in an existing business)? How did the idea for your business come about?
The inspiration for the Bed and Breakfast came from Bil’s love of New Orleans and his sister Rita. As an owner of two flourishing bars on Frenchmen Street, Bil became aware of the failing B&B down the street was in foreclosure. He saw an opertunity to renew the beautifyul home and provide his sister (who had been working for decades in retail) a more fulfilling career and outlet for her gift of design and customer service.
- What three pieces of advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs?
