Question: Kindly give us a brief description about yourself (it should include your brief educational or entrepreneurial background and list some of your major achievements).

Answer: We are the proud owners of The Drip Mobile IV—Jerred Gomez, Abbie Wallace, and Melissa Shust—all registered nurses with a diverse and extensive background in healthcare. Together, we bring over 55 years of combined nursing experience in emergency medicine, intensive care, pediatrics, and medical-surgical care. While this is our first business venture, we’ve embraced the challenge and have grown increasingly confident in our roles as entrepreneurs. What began as a leap outside our comfort zones has quickly evolved into a passion for delivering high-quality, convenient care to our community.

Question: What inspired you to (start a new business venture) or (to make significant changes in an existing business)? How did the idea for your business come about?

Answer: We wanted to help people just like we did as bed side/hospital RNs. Except we also wanted help people before they get sick as well. Our passion quickly began to focus on preventative care, but also be there for patients when they aren’t well. In home care allows us to personalize the patients care plan and meet them where they are.

Question: What three pieces of advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs?

Answer: Passion, resilience, and adaptability are all key. We all feel genuinely passionate about our business and that passion makes it easier to stay relevant and competitive. Being resilient and adaptable helps keep us on our toes, and allows us to pivot and adjust to the ever evolving changes that are inevitable when owning a business.

Question: What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?

Answer: We are very fortunate that we have 3 passionate owners that all have unique qualities about them. Being able to have one of us that can delegate and manage financial planning is a key element. Networking and customer service skills of another is a must. And finally, someone who is a creative thinker and willing to take a few risks makes a perfect team!

Question: How many hours do you work a day on average?

Answer: I don’t think the clock counts that high! But honestly, when the business was just starting out there were times where we didn’t stop and the business was put before everything. As a mobile IV business each day looks a little different. There were times where one of us would be leaving the house to go to dinner with our family, and we would get a call for an IV. We kissed our family off and wished them a good time at dinner while we went back inside to grab our supplies and head out to our client. We have learned that this business thrives solely based on what you are willing to put into it, we have put everything we have.

Question: To what do you most attribute your success?

Answer: Commitment to our vision and goals. Our passion for our patients and our dream for what this business can be is what has been the biggest asset to our success. Another aspect has been our family. Without our family’s support we would not have been able to make it to this point. Their shared passion and understanding has had a huge impact on our success.

Question: How do you go about marketing your business? What has been your most successful form of marketing?

Answer: Hire Eric Beckman and his team

Question: Where did your organizations funding/capital come from and how did you go about getting it? How did you obtain investors for your venture?

Answer: We don’t have any investors. We covered the startup fees.

Question: What is the best way to achieve long-term success?

Answer: We think being adaptable and consistent are key. Be prepared to be flexible and ride the waves of change!

Question: Where you see yourself and your business in 5 – 10 years?

Answer: We plan to have grown into a household name for not only IV therapy but as the go to wellness and concierge medicine company.

Question: Excluding yours, what company or business do you admire the most?

Answer: Drip hydration has always been a company that we have admired and watched from afar. They pave the wave with professionalism in our industry.
