Ans : Vasu Skin Solutions is a small, private, modern and comfortable medical aesthetic spa in Boulder, Colorado. We are in the process of opening another location in the RiNO art district in Denver, Colorado. Vasu offers skin care services to all ethic backgrounds! Our services include: laser her removal (all body parts!), anti-aging treatments, acne procedures, scar reduction and smoothing overall skin tone and texture!
Q. Please give us a brief description about yourself.
Ans : Jennifer Fisher is the owner and founder of Vasu Skin Solutions in Boulder Colorado! Jennifer has an extensive scientific background including an MS degree in Environmental Science and a BS degree in Biological Sciences. Her background, before discovering skin care, was nuclear power and the management of hazardous waste cleanup. Jennifer has lived in Boulder for 20 years with her two children ages 14 and 12, three dogs, one cat and a ton of fish! Jennifer is passionate about world travel, teaching her children about different cultures and backgrounds, scuba diving, snowboarding, mountain biking, adventure travel and never using plastic water bottles!
Q. How did you initially become involved in your industry?
Ans : I discovered skin care after deciding that I wanted to leave hazardous waste management. I became a Pilates instructor and owned a small, successful business out of my home for several years. I became bored with trying to assist athletic, Boulder moms with their already flat stomachs! I enrolled in aesthetic school which was mindfully painful and completed laser school at National Laser Institute in Scottsdale, Arizona. After laser school, I decided to purchase a hair removal laser on my AMEX!
Q. What three pieces of advice would you give to young business owners?
Ans : I know that everyone has heard this before, but you must find something that you are passionate about! Success and money will come after discovering your passion! Be ready to work hard and never give up! Make every minute in the day count!
Q. What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful small business owner?
Ans : Personality! Be nice, kind, and gracious to all of your clients as you would not be in business without them.
* Be ready to work hard! A small business owner does not work 9:00-5:00!! If that is what you are looking for then you should be an employee of a small business owner; not the owner!
* Problem solver! Approach every problem with a solution. Don’t complain; come up with a solution and move forward!
Q. How do you go about marketing your business? What has been your most successful form of marketing?
Ans : Word of mouth! Treat every client as if they are the most important person of the day! People talk and you want your clients talking about how great your business is!
Q. What is the best way to achieve long-term success?
Ans : * Treat your clients well! Make every client feel special, welcome and comfortable.
* Keep your costs affordable so you can sleep if your business has a slow month or quarter.
* Constantly look ahead on how your company can stay state-of-the-art, hip and modern!
* Education, pay attention to the future and look ahead on how you can make each client’s experience better!
