Ans :- Waste Control (WC) provides its client with concierge level service for the management of their waste and recyclable streams. These services include arranging and optimizing the service levels, provide recommendations on new and/or expanded recyclable programs, compaction equipment that could result in significant costs savings as well as consolidated billing for companies with multiple locations. WC services are tailored to each client’s specific need with the goal of providing management with a system to manage their waste streams efficiently and with minimal staff time. WC is the expert when it comes to providing its clients with a concierge service for the management of their waste.
Q.2 – Kindly give us a brief description about yourself (it should include your brief educational or entrepreneurial background and list some of your major achievements).
Ans :- My name is David Fahrion and I am the President of Waste Control. After a 30+ year career in the Solid Waste Management field I elected to leave my corporate job as head of a $350 million dollar solid waste management company and move to the side of the business were I will be assisting clients with better management of their waste and sustainability. My experience as an executive in the field make this a perfect fit for me as I know the other side of the business that our clients very rarely get to see. My high school level education was not a deterrent to advancing my career through hard work and the ability to learn from others. One of my most gratifying accomplishments was heading a team of professionals in the development of the largest Anaerobic Digestion facility in North America.
Q.3 – What inspired you to (start a new business venture) or (to make significant changes in an existing business)? How did the idea for your business come about?
Ans :- I was inspired to move out of the corporate world to allow myself to work closer with clients in order to solve issues that small business face each day. Some may call it corporate burn out but it just felt like the right time to start a new business venture that would yield significant results for the environment as well as to build sometime on my own.

Ans :- Do extensive research on the business you are proposing to start and check the level of competition in your area. Find a mentor or someone you trust to use as a sounding board to discuss your ideas and plans to ensure that you are not underestimating something or completely not thinking of a potential issue. Finally, trust your gut, be coachable and be prepared to work hard for long hours as you build the company of your dreams.

Ans :- Ability to lead by example, good listener of feedback in order to adjust the path of the company based on input from customers and employees and to be honest and operate with integrity.

Ans :- Hard work and a willingness to not give up as I have run into obstacles and hurdles. Be prepared to learn from others that are successful and be willing to be coached in areas that you may not be familiar with.

Ans :- We have an online website presences that is optimized through Search Engine Optimization (SEO). We also have a team of outside sales personnel that assist with obtaining clients and servicing their ongoing needs.

Ans :- Our financing for the company came through traditional investment from a commercial bank and an initial capital infusion from the ownership.

Ans :- Work hard and be willing to treat your customers and employees with respect and to provide a service that is priced fairly.

Ans :- Our goal over the next 5 years is to double the size of our business and move into some additional service areas. We are 1 year into our plan and our current run rate puts us on track to exceed our goal in less than 5 years. Once we accomplish our goal for the first 5 years, we will start to plan for the next 5.
