Q 3. What inspired you to (start a new business venture) or (to make significant changes in an existing business)? How did the idea for your business come about?
Ans: Lauterback Consulting was always a pioneering advisory for closely-held companies. After recognizing that marketing makes promises that the rest of these organizations had to keep, we realized they needed help building more robust processes for finding customers, retaining employees, operating more efficiently and in improving leadership skills.
Q 4.What three pieces of advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs?
Ans: 1) The skills you bring to your venture will not necessarily be the primary skills you’ll need to run the business. Few businesses become successful with the initial vision, have a Plan B
2) Memorialize every idea, plan and process. Having an operations manual that captures every process and describes every action required to perform that task will be a major value to you as your business grows
3) Get proper funding. Starting with insufficient funds can be a drag on the business for years, and may even be the reason for the demise of that business.
Q 5. What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?
Ans: 1) Fortitude
2) Flexibility
3) Insight
Q 6. To what do you most attribute your success?
Ans: Never giving up! There is always a key to opportunity, keeping one’s eyes open and promoting a sense of interest in others will keep you top of mind in their eyes.

Ans: Networking, together with active, provocative promotional campaigns.

Ans: I have started 3 businesses over the life of my career, all have been self-funded.
Q 9. What is the best way to achieve long-term success?
Ans: Embracing change! What worked 20 years ago is not nearly as stimulating as what is required to spark interest from a prospect today.
Q 10. Where you see yourself and your business in 5 – 10 years?
Ans: Not sure. Maybe retired in 10
Q 11. Excluding yours, what company or business do you admire the most?
