by | Aug 24, 2021 | Business

Kindly give readers an introduction to your business. Please include what your business is all about, in which city you are located and if you have offices in multiple locations/ cities.
You know that feeling you get when you’ve cleaned all day, your home is spotless, you don’t even want to cook because you don’t want to dirty the oven…and now you get to turn the lights off, light a candle, relax, put your feet up on the couch and turn on that movie you’ve been thinking about all day??? Yep! That’s the feeling we want everyone to have…minus the cleaning all daypart. That’s our job!!

Give us a brief description of yourself (it should include your brief educational or entrepreneurial background and list some of your major achievements).
Melody (Mel for short) – I have been a clean person since I remember. Maybe I’m a little OCD (self-diagnosed) due to color-coding my closet, everything in my pantry and fridge has to face a certain way. Maybe I like my clothes folded a certain way…or the fact that I used to iron my underwear (don’t tell anyone, it is a family secret). Also, attending elementary school in Japan and getting taught that you and your peers must clean the desks, classroom, and hallway at the end of the day made me aware of cleanliness to the next level. It doesn’t only teach you how to maintain a clean space, but it also teaches you to respect it. After many years, I started my college years majoring in math, but quickly changed it and graduated with a BA in Business Management. Can’t remember how many business plans I’ve written since then. But, this one just came natural, because it is truly something I enjoy doing, hence Perfectionist by Nature : )

Alvania (Alvi for short) – Ever since I can remember, my mother taught me the value of cleanliness. As the youngest of 3, I learned quickly to survive so I wouldn’t be stuck doing all the chores (thanks to older siblings). As I grew older, I noticed that I would act just like my mother…wiping the stovetop right after I cooked, picking things up as I finished using them, and most importantly keeping my place nice and tidy. Now that I’m a mother, I saw my daughter as little as 1 year old, helping me wipe the counter and clean after herself. It gave me the joy to see that she loves doing it! Even now at almost 3 years old, she helps her teachers in daycare clean up. I don’t like to see this as just a cleaning service company. This gives us the opportunity to take at least one thing off our clients’ plates who already struggle to juggle so many things that life throws at them.

What inspired you to (start a new business venture) or (to make significant changes in an existing business)?
The main inspiration for starting our own business was to spend more time with our kids. My wife and I both worked really hard in the corporate world, but when we had our first child, our way of thinking changed, and we constantly came up with the idea to leave our jobs, which will keep us away for up tAn Interview with Alvania Munoz – Perfectionist By Nature

Melody (Mel for short) – I have been a clean person since I remember. Maybe I’m a little OCD (self-diagnosed) due to color-coding my closet, everything in my pantry and fridge has to fo 12 hours a day. It wasn’t until we had the opportunity to move to AZ, that we decided to take the leap of faith and leave our jobs for new careers…our own business!

How did the idea for your business come about?
Honestly, I think I have a few degrees from YouTube University. I have watched thousands of videos pertaining to different topics throughout the years. I took an instant obsession with cleaning videos. They were just so satisfying to watch and I would spend hours at a time trying to watch them and focus on the job I used to have. Watching someone clean a stovetop full of stuck-on grease and turn it into a brand new-looking one gave me the same feeling as watching Chip and Joanna Gaines reveal a beautiful home after pulling the old picture back…I knew it was my calling!

Who has been your greatest inspiration?
Our children. They show us to live fearlessly, wholeheartedly, and unapologetically.

What makes you different from other businesses in your industry?
We care, not just about our business. We care about your well-being, your family, and the hard-earned money you spend on us. We care about the trust given to us and most importantly, we care about the time you get to spend with your family.

To what do you most attribute your success?
We love what we do. And it is no longer a job…it is our career path we chose and the career path we love walking.

What do you think is the best way to achieve long-term success in business?
Consistency is key. It May sound cliché, but it is 110% true.

Where do you see yourself and your business in 5 – 10 years?
Giving away free cleaning without taking heat in our budget. We would like to help as many people as possible, who really need our help. We also want residential cleaning to become something everyone can afford, and not something that is a luxury.

Excluding yours, what company or business do you admire the most?
No company in general. We admire and respect any business that treats their employees like they should be treated because, without them, there wouldn’t be a running business.

Who is your target demographic?
• Families
• Seniors
• People moving
• Renovating homes
• Rentals
• Business Owners

Please list 3-5 talking points about your business that you feel are most relevant to your target audience.

• Dedication
• Quality
• Honesty
• Enthusiasm

What are your overall thoughts on your industry? Any advice you could give people about your industry?
We believe our industry has become more important in the last year than any other. Due to the pandemic, people became more aware of the importance of cleanliness and hygiene to prevent colds and flu. At the same time, we feel our industry still doesn’t get the credit or respect it deserves. We should all be respectful of one another, even to the person who cleans our home.

Is your business involved with any charitable organizations, social causes, or non-profit work?
Not at the moment. We are looking to work with the LGBTQ community, as well as the cancer association, which both hit close to home.

How do you give back and support your community?
We currently donate goods to St Mary’s Food Bank to help the communities around us.
