• Please give our readers an introduction to your business. Please include what your business is all about, in which city you are located and if you have offices in multiple locations/ cities.
Advanced Aesthetics is a multi-location plastic surgery practice serving Metro Atlanta and the surrounding areas. We have an on-site plastic surgery center in Fayetteville, GA as well as a second location in Newnan, GA right across the street from a major hospital center.
• Kindly give us a brief description about yourself (it should include your brief educational or entrepreneurial background and list some of your major achievements).
My name is Dr. Edward Gronka and I’m part of the Advanced Aesthetics Plastic Surgery group. I completed my undergraduate studies at Emory University, where I received the George P. Cuttino Award for academic achievement. I received my Medical Doctorate degree from Temple University Medical School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I’ve been a practicing surgeon for more than 30 years.
• What inspired you to (start a new business venture) or (to make significant changes in an existing business)? How did the idea for your business come about?
I came to Advanced Aesthetics in the 1990s due in large part because I knew the practice was one of integrity, excellence, and a deep passion for patient care. At Advanced Aesthetics, we pride ourselves on innovation and safety to ensure we’re providing the best possible care to each and every patient.
• What three pieces of advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs?
My biggest piece of advice would be to make sure you remain true to who you are. We’ll always be happier and more successful if we’re not trying to be someone else. Also, don’t ever forget all of the help you’ve had along the way. Great things don’t happen alone. You need a team backing you up.
• What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?
A willingness to listen. A willingness to stick to your gut. And a whole lot of hard work. Being your own boss is amazing, but it’s not easy. You have to be willing to put in the work and the effort it requires.
• How many hours do you work a day on average?
It depends on several factors, but it’s between 8-10 hours a day usually.
• To what do you most attribute your success?
In my profession, you have to care about the outcomes. It has to matter to you because what we do is such an intimate process. Whether we’re doing a purely cosmetic procedure or helping someone recover from a personal trauma, treating everyone with compassion and care goes a long way and has kept me focused on delivering the best possible outcomes for my patients.
• How do you go about marketing your business? What has been your most successful form of marketing?
Word of mouth is the biggest selling point we’ll ever have because of the nature of the services we provide. Nothing is more powerful than that. We also utilize digital marketing tools and we pay keen attention to our branding and how we’re presented as we feel consistency matters.
• What is the best way to achieve long-term success?
Being consistent, forward thinking, and understanding that it takes hard work and dedication. Long-term success doesn’t just happen. You have to earn it.
• Where do you see yourself and your business in 5 – 10 years?
I see Advanced Aesthetics being the premier plastic surgery practice in South Metro Atlanta and I see myself continuing the work I’m doing today.
• Excluding yours, what company or business do you admire the most?
I love the Titleist golf brand. This is an iconic brand that has managed to stay on top of the golf world by adapting to new technology but by not changing who it is at its core.
