Questions: Kindly give our readers an introduction to your business. Please include what your business is all about, in which city you are located and if you have offices in multiple locations/ cities.

Answer: My inspiration to start Revival Psychiatry came from witnessing the profound need for compassionate, personalized mental health care while working in an urgent care setting. I saw too many patients feeling rushed and unheard in traditional settings, and I wanted to create a space where they could feel truly valued and understood. Our approach is about building meaningful connections and ensuring each patient receives the individualized care they deserve.

Revival Psychiatry stands out because of our commitment to highly personalized care and the nurturing atmosphere we cultivate. We prioritize compassion in everything we do, from offering a listening ear to guiding patients through their treatment options. Our appointments are never rushed; we take the time to truly listen and understand each patient’s unique needs. Additionally, we leverage technology to make accessing care as seamless and stress-free as possible.

At Revival Psychiatry, we provide a comprehensive range of services to address mental, emotional, and behavioral health conditions. Our services include accurate diagnostic evaluations, medication management, and various therapy options. We cater to individuals of all ages, from children as young as six to seniors up to 100 years old. Our goal is to offer a holistic approach to mental health, ensuring that every aspect of our patients’ well-being is addressed.

Compassion is the cornerstone of our practice. From the moment patients walk through our doors, we strive to create a welcoming and supportive environment. We take the time to listen to their concerns, validate their experiences, and provide empathetic guidance. Our team is dedicated to being there for our patients every step of the way, whether they need a listening ear or help navigating their treatment options. We believe that building trust and fostering open communication are key to effective care.

Technology has been a game-changer for us. It allows us to streamline processes, making it easier for patients to book appointments, access their medical records, and communicate with our team. Telehealth options have also expanded our reach, enabling patients to receive care from the comfort of their homes. Our goal is to make accessing mental health care as convenient and stress-free as possible, and technology plays a crucial role in achieving that.

We are always looking for ways to enhance and expand our services to better meet the needs of our community. In the future, we plan to introduce more specialized therapy options, expand our telehealth services, and potentially open additional locations to make our care even more accessible. Our ultimate goal is to continue providing compassionate, high-quality mental health care to everyone who needs it.

Questions: Kindly give us a brief description about yourself (it should include your brief educational orentrepreneurial background and list some of your major achievements).

Answer: I’ve been a nurse for 20 years, with dual certifications in family medicine and psychiatric mental health care. This unique combination allows me to offer true holistic care to my patients, addressing both their physical and mental health needs comprehensively. My journey into psychiatry was driven by a deep commitment to mental health, and I’ve spent years dedicating my life to this field. My passion particularly lies in treating bipolar disorder and supporting weight loss, areas where I would consider myself an expert.

After years of working in various healthcare settings, I saw a significant gap in compassionate, personalized mental health care. I wanted to create a space where patients could receive the attention and understanding they deserve. Starting Revival Psychiatry was my way of filling that gap, offering a nurturing environment where individuals of all ages can feel truly supported.

Having a background in family medicine complements my psychiatric practice by enabling me to consider the whole person, not just their mental health. I can integrate physical health care into my treatment plans, ensuring a more comprehensive approach. This dual perspective is especially beneficial for patients with conditions like bipolar disorder, where physical health can significantly impact mental well-being, and vice versa.

Bipolar disorder is a complex condition that requires careful, nuanced care. I’ve seen how profoundly it can impact individuals and their families, and I’m passionate about providing effective treatment and support. Weight loss is another area where mental and physical health intersect. Helping patients achieve a healthier weight can dramatically improve their overall well-being and self-esteem. Both areas are crucial for holistic health, and I find it incredibly rewarding to help patients navigate these challenges.

Revival Psychiatry is my fourth small business, and I’ve learned a lot along the way. Each venture has taught me valuable lessons about entrepreneurship, from managing operations to creating a positive workplace culture. I’ve become quite adept at navigating the challenges of running a business, and it’s been incredibly fulfilling to see my vision come to life and positively impact the community.

Questions: What inspired you to (start a new business venture) or (to make significant changes in an existing business)? How did the idea for your business come about?

Answer: The inspiration to start Revival Psychiatry came from a deep-seated need I observed in the mental health care field. Throughout my 20 years as a nurse, working in both family medicine and psychiatric mental health care, I saw countless patients who felt rushed, unheard, and often left without the comprehensive care they needed. It was clear to me that the traditional psychiatric clinics were not meeting the emotional and holistic needs of many individuals.

I wanted to build something fundamentally different–a place where patients could receive truly personalized and compassionate care. I envisioned a clinic where appointments are not rushed, where patients feel valued and heard, and where the focus is on holistic well-being, integrating both mental and physical health. At Revival Psychiatry, we aim to create a nurturing atmosphere where we can address each patient’s unique needs and provide support every step of the way. This vision drives everything we do, from our diagnostic services to our treatment options, ensuring that every patient receives the highest quality of care.

Questions: What three pieces of advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs?

Answer:My advice would be to stay passionate about your mission and be adaptable. The healthcare field is constantly evolving, and being open to change is crucial. Also, never underestimate the power of compassion and genuine care. Patients and clients can sense when you truly care about their well-being, and that trust is invaluable. Lastly, surround yourself with a supportive team. A great team can make all the difference in achieving your business goals.

Questions: What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?

In my experience, the top three skills that are essential for a successful entrepreneur are resilience, adaptability, and effective communication.

Questions: How many hours do you work a day on average?

Answer: 8-12, honestly I feel like I work 24-7, but thatsokay.

Questions: To what do you most attribute your success?

Answer: The success of Revival Psychiatry can largely be attributed to word of mouth and referrals. This speaks volumes about the care our patients receive. When patients feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported, they naturally want to share their positive experiences with others. This organic growth through personal recommendations is a testament to the compassionate and personalized care we provide.

I focus on building strong, trusting relationships with our patients. By taking the time to understand their unique needs and providing tailored treatment plans, we ensure that each patient feels valued. This level of care fosters a sense of trust and loyalty, encouraging patients to refer their friends, family, and colleagues to our practice. Seeing the impact of our approach reflected in these referrals is incredibly rewarding and motivates me to continue delivering the highest standard of care.

Questions: How do you go about marketing your business? What has been your most successful form of marketing?

Answer: Inthe past, our marketing efforts have included a dedicated social media manager who has helped to build a strong online presence and engage with the community through various platforms. Recently, I’ve also added an SEO and marketing manager to our team. This addition aims to enhance our online visibility and attract more patients through strategic search engine optimization and targeted marketing campaigns.

Despite these efforts, the most successful form of marketing for us so far has been word of mouth and referrals. This success is a reflection of the compassionate and personalized care we provide, which inspires my patients to recommend our services to their friends and family.

Recognizing the importance of diversifying our marketing strategy, I’ve also recently hired a medical liaison. This individual is responsible for visiting medical offices in person, delivering our brochures, and providing referral pages. By establishing and nurturing relationships with other healthcare providers, I aim to increase our referrals and raise awareness about the unique, high-quality care offered at Revival Psychiatry.

Mygoal is to continue building on the strong foundation of word of mouth and referrals while expanding our reach through these new marketing initiatives. I believe that by combining personal connections with a robust online presence, I can ensure more people have access to the compassionate and comprehensive mental health care they need.

Questions: How did you obtain investors for your venture?

Answer: Revival Psychiatry is entirely self-funded, and I am the sole investor in the business. I used my own money to start the practice because I wanted to have full control over the vision and direction of the clinic. By investing my own resources, I could ensure that the practice was built on the principles and values that I hold dear, such as compassion, personalized care, and holistic treatment.

Taking this approach allowed me to create a space that truly reflects my commitment to providing high-quality mental health care. It was a significant financial commitment, but it was important for me to be able to shape the practice without external influences. This decision has been incredibly rewarding, as it has allowed me to build a clinic that aligns with my mission and serves the needs of our community effectively.

Investing my own money also meant that I was deeply invested in the success of the practice, both financially and personally. It motivated me to work even harder to ensure that Revival Psychiatry could make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved so far and excited about the future as we continue to grow and expand our services.

Questions: What is the best way to achieve long-term success?

Answer: Long-term success as a business owner comes down to a few key factors: passion, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Passion drives you to persevere through challenges and stay dedicated to your mission. Adaptability is crucial in an ever-changing market, allowing you to pivot and innovate as needed. Continuous improvement ensures that you and your team are always learning, growing, and enhancing the quality of your services.

Team building is fundamental to long-term success. A strong, cohesive team can achieve far more than any individual alone. I prioritize creating a supportive and collaborative work environment. We invest in our team’s professional development and ensure that everyone feels valued and heard. This not only enhances job satisfaction but also translates into better care for our patients.

Balancing short-term goals with long-term objectives requires strategic planning and flexibility. We set clear, achievable short-term goals that align with our long-term vision. This approach allows us to make steady progress while remaining adaptable to changes and new opportunities. Regularly reviewing our goals and adjusting our strategies ensures that we stay on track without losing sight of our long-term objectives.

Having a clear vision and mission is crucial for long-term success. It serves as a guiding star, keeping you focused and aligned with your core values and objectives. For Revival Psychiatry, our mission of providing compassionate, personalized mental health care drives every decision we make. It helps us stay true to our purpose and motivates us to continually strive for excellence.

My advice would be to stay passionate about your mission and be willing to adapt to changing circumstances. Focus on building a strong, supportive team and invest in continuous learning and improvement. Keep your vision and mission clear, and don’t be afraid to take calculated risks. Most importantly, stay resilient. Challenges are inevitable, but with determination and a positive mindset, you can overcome them and achieve long-term success.

Questions: Where you see yourself and your business in 5 – 10 years?

Answer: I plan to continue expanding my knowledge and expertise in mental health and holistic care. For Revival Psychiatry, I envision broadening our services, incorporating more specialized therapies, and potentially opening additional locations. My ultimate goal is to make compassionate, personalized mental health care accessible to as many people as possible while working from my beach house!!

Questions: Excluding yours, what company or business do you admire the most?

Answer: A company I admire is Patagonia. They not only treat their employees and vendors with respect and fairness but also demonstrate a strong commitment to social and environmental responsibility. Patagonia’s approach to business, where they prioritize their workers and the planet while maintaining profitability, is truly inspiring.

Zappos is another company I look up to. Their focus on creating a strong company culture and empowering their employees is well-known. They believe in fostering a supportive and enjoyable workplace, which has helped them build a dedicated team and a loyal customer base.

These companies demonstrate that valuing employees and vendors can lead to smoother business operations, higher employee satisfaction, and better overall performance. At Revival Psychiatry, I strive to embody these principles by creating a supportive work environment and treating everyone involved in our practice–staff, patients, and partners–with respect and appreciation. A happy, motivated team is essential to providing the compassionate and high-quality care that our patients deserve.

Questions: How important have good employees been to your success?

The success of Revival Psychiatry is a collective effort. Our employees and vendors are integral to our ability to provide exceptional care and grow as a practice.

Questions: How long do you stick with an idea before giving up?

Answer: I am like a dog with a bone, if I put my mind to something it happens until it doesn’t happen.
