Please introduce Twin Cities Hardware. What does your company do, and what markets or industries do you serve?

TCH Co. (popularly known as Twin City Hardware) is a family owned and operated company led by, 3rd generation family member and entrepreneur, Mr. Ben Boomer. TCH is one of the leading Channel Hardware Distributors and System Integrators in the country offering, physical security solutions, such as doors, frames, hardware, access control and surveillance for non-residential (including multifamily) building categories.
Headquartered in Oakdale, Minnesota and with 7 additional locations, we work with general contractors and end-users for new construction projects and aftermarket services, including retrofits, upgrades and maintenance.

The National Accounts team supports enterprise end-users in healthcare and retail, providing comprehensive coverage across every U.S. zip code for both new construction and aftermarket needs.

* Tell us a bit about your role and your background. How long have you been with TCH, and what brought you to this industry?

Ankit Parikh. Director – Strategic Marketing
With over 21 years of global experience at companies like dormakaba, ASSA ABLOY, and Jaquar Group, I combine a background in Architecture and Business Administration to drive strategic value at the intersection of design, security, technology, and commerce. Currently leading Strategic Marketing at TCH, I focus on bridging the gap between design intent and effective delivery, with a passion for advancing safety and security in the built environment through market-driven insights and continuous innovation.

Business Strategy

* What are the key services or product lines that set you apart in the market?

Our key product solution encompasses all products, including the door, which makes a door – safe, secure, and accessible. With state-of-the-art equipment, we customise and deliver these solutions at scale. Our notable project advancing services include Contractor Assistance Program, Pre-Install, and Door-in-a-Box that saves the customer – time, money, and resources.

* How has your business evolved in the last few years? Are there any changes or innovations you’re especially proud of?

Our uniqueness is in providing integrated solutions across Division 8 and Division 28, plus complementation solutions within Division 10. We execute these through our in-house design, engineering, and production professionals, including advanced robotics and machinery that allows us to customize these solutions more efficiently and at speed, leading to shorter lead times and quicker service without sacrificing quality.

* What are your biggest growth opportunities right now — and what’s standing in the way?

The greatest opportunities today lie in strengthening building security by offering enhanced deterrence measures, intelligent monitoring, and greater user convenience. As risks to occupants and assets continue to rise, ensuring safety and security has become more critical than ever.
What stands in the way is a general lack of understanding among stakeholders about the actual needs of building occupants, especially with security, safety, and convenience. Also lacking is the importance of using a comprehensive “brand agnostic” provider from Design to Delivery!
The best way for one to find out is to get a security audit done!

* How do you define success at TCH?

At TCH, success means helping create safer and smarter built environments. Our success rests on satisfied customers who value timely, cost-effective project deliverables and reliable support, throughout the lifecycle of the building.
Customer & Marketing Focus

* Who is your ideal customer, and what matters most to them?

Our ideal customer is a general contractor operating in the commercial building space—whether in retail, office, healthcare, or institutional sectors. What matters most to them is partnering with reliable, responsive, and trustworthy subcontractors who can help deliver projects on time and without compromise.
At TCH, we’re best known for our expertise in door and integrated access solutions under Division 8 & Division 28 – an essential component of any building. Our ability to provide not only the right products but also consistent, dependable service makes us a valued partner to general contractors seeking efficiency, quality, and peace of mind on every project – during and post construction.

* What have been your most effective marketing strategies?

Our most effective marketing strategies focus on building trust through authentic, value-driven engagement. This includes fostering personalized connections at scale and maintaining strong relationships with our customers. These relationship-centric efforts have consistently strengthened our brand presence and led to new project opportunities.

* How do you build and maintain strong customer relationships?

Building strong relationships is all about showing up—consistently and meaningfully. From hosting experiences and attending industry events to visits by our project managers, we stay connected with our clients at every step. It’s how we listen, learn, and grow—together

Leadership & Culture

* How would you describe the culture at TCH?

At TCH, we are all inspired by the same vision and mission– to serve our customers. This means that every value creation and project is done with the customers’ best interest. This shared goal allows us to collaborate, improve, and grow as a company.

* What do you think makes a strong team? How have you built or maintained a high-performing group?

A strong team is built on clarity, consistency, shared goals, and mutual trust. TCH’s one face to the customer approach, which, while seemingly simple, demands rigorous planning and seamless execution across multiple teams. This model only works when every team member understands their role, aligns with collaborative KPIs, and upholds a culture of integrity and accountability.
The most meaningful validation of our performance comes not just from internal metrics but from our customers themselves—their loyalty, endorsements, and repeat business speak volumes. Many of our client relationships span decades, which is a direct reflection of the strength and consistency of our teams.

* What keeps your team motivated?

Strong sense of ownership, purpose, and trust. Each team member has clear accountability and a tangible connection to customer success. TCH culture empowers them to see the direct impact of their work, which is highly motivating.
We also stay motivated by achieving KPIs that are meaningful and creating a sense of shared achievement. Recognition, internal and external, reinforces pride in our work.

Looking Ahead

* What’s your vision for the next 5–10 years?

At TCH, our vision is to strengthen our high-performing teams and deepen the “one face to the customer” model. We’ll continue investing in talent, technology, and collaboration tools to stay agile and aligned with evolving customer needs.

* Are there any upcoming projects, product launches, or expansions you can preview?

We continue to secure a diverse portfolio of non-residential buildings, including multi-location real estate for enterprise end-users, including Fortune 500 companies.
Among our standout offerings are Door-in-A-Box, Pre-Install, and our trusted on-site support, which set us apart.
TCH is consistently expanding its solutions and services, with a focus on enhancing security and safety, tailored to every building type, one opening at a time.
