1. Kindly give our readers an introduction to your business.
Genesis Medical Group is a physician-led, patient-centered medical group that provides high-quality, comprehensive care across multiple specialties. We are headquartered in The Woodlands, Texas, and operate clinics throughout the greater Houston area, including Tomball, Spring, and Conroe. Our mission is to elevate the patient experience by integrating cutting-edge medical technology, compassionate care, and personalized attention in every encounter.
2. Kindly give us a brief description about yourself.
I am a physician and entrepreneur with a background in internal medicine and healthcare leadership. My journey began with a desire to improve access to quality healthcare and streamline the way care is delivered. Over the years, I’ve grown Genesis Medical Group from a single practice to a thriving network of multispecialty clinics. Some of my proudest achievements include launching community-based oncology services, pioneering collaborative partnerships with local hospitals, and spearheading value-based care initiatives across our locations.
3. What inspired you to start a new business venture? How did the idea for your business come about?
Genesis was born from a desire to do things differently in healthcare. I saw firsthand how fragmented care and bureaucracy were affecting both providers and patients. I wanted to create a model that emphasized trust, continuity, and innovation—a place where physicians could focus on medicine and patients could feel truly heard and cared for.
4. How many hours do you work a day on average?
On average, I work 10 to 12 hours a day. That includes clinical time, administrative responsibilities, strategic planning, and mentoring emerging leaders within the organization. But to me, it doesn’t feel like “work” when you’re passionate about the mission.
5. To what do you most attribute your success?
Faith, resilience, and a deep commitment to people—both patients and team members. Success is rarely about one big moment. It’s about consistently doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.
6. How do you go about marketing your business? What has been your most successful form of marketing?
Our most effective form of marketing has been word-of-mouth and patient loyalty. When patients feel cared for, they refer others. That said, we also invest in community outreach, digital presence, and provider reputation management. Building trust in the community has been key.
7. What is the best way to achieve long-term success?
Long-term success is built on integrity, adaptability, and relationships. You have to be willing to evolve with the needs of your patients and your team, without ever compromising your core values.
8. Where do you see yourself and your business in 5–10 years?
In 5–10 years, I see Genesis continuing to grow throughout Texas and possibly into other states. We’re also expanding our focus integrated primary and oncology care to those who need it most.
9. What kind of culture exists in your organization? How did you establish this tone?
We have a culture of accountability, compassion, and collaboration. I established this by being present and leading by example. I believe in empowering people, recognizing hard work, and fostering open communication. When people feel valued, they give their best.
10. How do you define success?
Success is knowing that we’ve made a meaningful impact. Whether it’s a patient beating cancer, a provider thriving in their role, or a clinic expanding to serve a new neighborhood—those wins are everything.
11. How do you build a successful customer (patient) base?
By listening. Patients know when they’re being heard and when their health truly matters to you. We focus on the small things—follow-up calls, friendly staff, clean environments—and the big things—clinical excellence and continuity of care.
12. How important have good employees been to your success?
They’ve been everything. A great team is the backbone of any successful practice. I surround myself with people who are smarter than me, and I listen to them. Investing in their growth and well-being is non-negotiable.
13. If you were conducting this interview, what question would you ask?
I’d ask: “What failure taught you the most?” Because the lessons from failure often build the foundation for future success.
14. Is there anything else you think we should know?
At Genesis, we believe healthcare is not just about treating illness—it’s about building healthier communities. That’s why we are constantly innovating, from wound care to advanced diagnostics to our upcoming partnership in biologics distribution. We’re not just growing—we’re evolving to meet the moment.
