Q 1. Kindly give our readers an introduction to your business.

Ans: All Ohio Home Buyers is a family owned real estate investment company. Our central office is located in Kettering Ohio. We specialize in buying destressed or unwanted properties with zero hassle to the seller. We rehabilitate these properties and bring them back to their former glory. We pride ourselves in revitalizing not only the house, but the neighborhood in which the house is located.

Q 2. Kindly give us a brief description about yourself.

Ans: My name is Nick Brenner. I grew up in Beavercreek Ohio, and currently reside in Bellbrook Ohio. I attended Wright State University, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Business Management. After college, I worked as a customer service manager for 5 years. At this point, I made the decision to start my own real estate business.

Q 3. What inspired you to start a new business venture or to make significant changes in an existing business? How did the idea for your business come about?

Ans: Growing up in a family business, it had always been a dream of mine to own my own business. I was always drawn to the idea of controlling my own hours and income, and working for something that was my own. I had always been interested in real estate, and it felt like a good fit.

Q 4. What three pieces of advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs?

Ans: The first piece of advice I would give a budding entrepreneur would be to not be discouraged by failure. Mistakes will be made, but it is how you respond to those mistakes that will determine if you succeed or not. Next, I’d advise to be able to take criticism. Use constructive criticism and use it as a tool to make your business better.
I would also mention that it is very important as a business owner to be very self-driven and highly motivated. This is your business, it will be a direct reflection of your time and effort.

Q 5. What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?

Ans: The top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur are self-motivation, ambition, and adaptability.

Q 6. How many hours do you work a day on average?

Ans: On average, I work around 8 – 10 hours a day.

Q 7. To what do you most attribute your success?

Ans: I attribute my success to my ability to think outside the box. I am constantly looking at fresh new ways to market. I am also continuously looking at what I can do to make improvements to existing systems in my business. There can always be improvements, so I do not allow myself to become comfortable. I am perpetually striving for progress.

Q 8. How do you go about marketing your business? What has been your most successful form of marketing?

Ans: Currently, I utilize SEO Internet Marketing as well as direct mail. Both have their pros and cons, but I have found success in both marketing strategies.

Q 9. Where did your organizations funding/capital come from and how did you go about getting it? How did you obtain investors for your venture?

Ans: The funding for my business predominantly comes from private lenders. The best way to obtain investors for the future is to network through local investment groups. It is beneficial to be active in local investment groups through meet-ups and social media.

Q 10. What is the best way to achieve long-term success?

Ans: Persistence is the key to long term success. It is important to find a niche and master it. Too many companies try to take on too many different ventures too quickly. It’s important to become good at one niche first before expanding into other areas.

Q 11. Where you see yourself and your business in 5 – 10 years?

Ans: In the next 5-10 years I see my business expanding and growing. I can see adding an acquisitions manager, office manager, ands systems manager. This would allow me to assume a role outside of day to day operations.

Q 12. Excluding yours, what company or business do you admire the most?

Ans: I have always been impressed with Amazon. No matter how big they become they continue to push the envelope with new ideas. They are constantly pushing to be better and create new products and features for their clients.

Q 13. How long do you stick with an idea before giving up?

Ans: It depends on what the idea is. I try to set-up my time guidelines before I begin new ideas or projects. For example. On my direct mail campaigns, I decided to try it for one year to have enough data to analyze before throwing in the towel or increase my direct mail budget.

Q 14. How do you generate new ideas?

Ans: We generate leads usually by marketing to potential leads. We do a variation of direct mail and internet marketing. We also try to get referrals from previous clients or other people we know.

Q 15. How do you define success?

Ans: Success is defined differently by each person. For me I write out the long and short term goals that I want to achieve in my personal life and my business life. For me success is achieving those goals and being able to make new goals to try and achieve.

Q 16. What is your favorite aspect of being an entrepreneur?

Ans: My favorite aspect of being an entrepreneur is being able to see the direct results of my work. It is very rewarding to build a business and see the results from your hard work.

Q 17. What has been your most satisfying moment in business?

Ans: My most satisfying moment in business is always at the closing table when we are purchasing a property. I have never bought a house that someone didn’t want to sell. The clients always look much happier and a huge weight lifted off their shoulders at the closing table. It has always been rewarding for me to hear what their next step is in life now that they do not have a burdensome house holding them back.
