Q – Kindly give our readers an introduction to your business. Please include what your business is all about, in which city you are located and if you have offices in multiple locations/ cities?
A – My clinic is on the west side of Madison, and I am in the business of making people the best possible version of themselves by optimizing their lifestyle. I utilize a wide array of chiropractic, nutrition, neurological, and soft tissue therapies to help get people better, quicker.
Q – Kindly give us a brief description about yourself (it should include your brief educational or entrepreneurial background and list some of your major achievements)?
A – I grew up and graduated high school in Tomah, Wisconsin. I then went on to receive a bachelor’s in biology with a chemistry minor from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. During that time at La Crosse, I became passionate about chiropractic, then enrolled to Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minnesota to pursue my passion. Since graduating cum laude in December 2016, I moved to the health-oriented city of Madison where I opened my own chiropractic clinic. My main goal is to educate people about health, so that they can be the healthiest possible person they can be. On top of my Doctor of Chiropractic Degree, I received a Post-Doctorate Degree in Nutrition from the American Clinical Board of Nutrition, as well as other certifications in soft tissue massage and kinesiology taping. With a wide array of treatment options, I am looking to find the root cause and get people better quicker.
Q – What inspired you to (start a new business venture) or (to make significant changes in an existing business)? How did the idea for your business come about?
A – I wanted to make a change in healthcare, because I believe people deserve a better option when it comes to certain issues. The reason why I started my own clinic is because I have unique training that is different than the vast majority of other practitioners, so I wanted to be different and be my own boss when trying to help people get better.
Q – What three pieces of advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs?
A – Your time is the most valuable thing you have, utilize it wisely. Don’t get discouraged when business isn’t going as well as what you want it to go. Set up partnerships with other business owners that resonate with your brand.
Q – What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?
A – Grit, ability to deal with the word “no”, patience
Q – How many hours do you work a day on average?
A – 12 hours a day during the week, and a few hours on the weekends
Q – To what do you most attribute your success?
A – Hard work and grit (not only currently, but also with my education and training)
Q – How do you go about marketing your business? What has been your most successful form of marketing?
A – There are many ways I try to market my business, but the most successful way has been meeting other people (in particular other business owners) and setting up one-on-one meetings as much as possible. People tend to do business with people that they know as well as people who do business with them.
Q – Where did your organizations funding/capital come from and how did you go about getting it? How did you obtain investors for your venture?
A – Small business loan
Q – What is the best way to achieve long-term success?
A – Keep working hard, and don’t take any business success for granted
Q – Where you see yourself and your business in 5 – 10 years?
A – I see my business having a few other practitioners (chiropractors, massage therapists, acupuncturists, etc.) working for me, that want to make people become the healthiest possible version of themselves. I will move more from a treating patients role to more of a manager role and becoming a mentor for the practitioners that work for me.
Q – Excluding yours, what company or business do you admire the most?
A – Any alternative health clinic that is pushing the envelope trying to get better results with certain issues than what the American Healthcare system offers.
