Q. Kindly give our readers an introduction to your business. Please include what your business is all about, in which city you are located and if you have offices in multiple locations/ cities.

A. Shemarketplace is presented by Miss Fashion Week as a central platform for women empowerment. We provide tools and resources to help women achieve mental health, physical health and financial health.

All of our products are curated to have women empowerment in mind. We focus on two big product categories: Self Help and Self Care. All products are either created by women, or women owned, or the brand has a strong women empowerment message. Every single dollar you spend on our platform empowers women somewhere. 10% of the profit goes to MFW Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization that supports #3 and #5 of UN’s Sustainable Development Goals – Good health and Well-being and Gender Equality.

Q. Kindly give us a brief description about yourself (it should include your brief educational or entrepreneurial background and list some of your major achievements).

A. I have a background in computer engineering and have always had a “passion for fashion”. But She Marketplace evolved into such more than just a fashion business. Our professional team of women thought we could do more to help other women. That’s what She Marketplace is committed to doing, focusing on the health and development by women for women,

Q. What inspired you to (start a new business venture) or (to make significant changes in an existing business)? How did the idea for your business come about?

A. The real inspiration for starting She Marketplace came from my own story, I guess. I struggled for a long time with my body image and self-confidence. Learning to love and accept myself was a long journey, I hope to pass on my experiences through She Marketplace. If we can help just one woman, it will all be worth it.

Q. What three pieces of advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs?

A. Whatever you do, do your best, stay healthy and happy, save your money for the next opportunity.

Q. What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?

A. The top three skills needed to be successful are being able to recognize opportunity, working hard, and always staying focused.

Q. How many hours do you work a day on average?
I stopped counting how many hours a week I work. I try to take a full 24 hours off a week to relax my mind.

Q. To what do you most attribute your success?

A. I most attribute my success to my parents. They were extremely hard-working people and taught me how to be the same way. They’ve always wanted the best for me.

Q. How do you go about marketing your business? What has been your most successful form of marketing?

Q. Where did your organizations funding/capital come from and how did you go about getting it? How did you obtain investors for your venture?

A. My funding came from saving money from previous entrepreneurial ventures, and I saved my money like crazy.

Q. What is the best way to achieve long-term success?

A. The best way to achieve long term success is to focus on what you want, and work towards it every day to achieve that goal.

Q. Where you see yourself and your business in 5 – 10 years?

A. I see myself on to the next big thing in the business world. Whatever God and my passion steers me towards.
