Q. Kindly give our readers an introduction to your business. Please include what your business is all about, in which city you are located and if you have offices in multiple locations/ cities.
Ans: We are a family owned painting company located in Naperville, IL. We do interior/exterior commercial and residential painting as well as staining of decks, doors, and cabinets. We also do power washing of buildings, homes, decks and fences. Our office is located in Naperville, IL. That is our only office but we serve the surrounding communities within a 15 mile radius. .
Q. Kindly give us a brief description about yourself (it should include your brief educational or entrepreneurial background and list some of your major achievements).
Ans: Bob Jung is the owner of his 16 year old painting company. Bob has been painting for over 34 years. He started painting racketball courts and then moved to gyms and then to homes. He has a BA in business and after working for a painting company for 15+ years he decided it was time to start to move out on his own. Bob started Bob Jung Painting in 2004.
Bob won the Naperville Chamber Small Business of the year award in 2008, Ambassador of the year for Naperville Chamber for 4 years, Best Picks winner in 2017, Finalist for Best of Bolingbrook for 2 years.
Bob’s wife joined the company in 2018 as the Business Development Director, her background was a BA in Communications Minor in Org. Psy and worked for her family business Phillips Flowers for 25 years before leaving to start her own Business Development firm in 2003. Long list of business and personal accomplishments for Judy over the years.
Largest achievement for Jung Family Painting was hitting 1 million in sales in 2019.
Q. What inspired you to (start a new business venture) or (to make significant changes in an existing business)? How did the idea for your business come about?
Ans: Bob was sick of working for people that did not care about him or the quality of work they did. Bob wanted more to his career and wanted to challenge himself as a businessman, so that pushed him to start his business.
Q. What three pieces of advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs?
Ans: Get involved in the community as soon as possible. IE Chambers, Rotary, Church, other businesses and non profits.
Treat others like you would like to be treated.
Dont think you wll make a million in a year, know that it is a lot of hard work. Set goals and keep yourself accountable.
Q. What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?
Ans: Dedication, Patience, Giving Back
Q. How many hours do you work a day on average?
Ans: 60 hours a week and more in the summer months

Ans: My hard work and my team
Q. How do you go about marketing your business? What has been your most successful form of marketing?
Ans: Chamber of commerce, Rotary, Giving Back and helping the community. Social media, press releases, non profit events. Signs, shirts, swag at meetnigs and expos.
Most successful forms of marketing are the logo, tagline and theme colors of fluorescent green and yellow. Those have put the company on the map with recognition in the community and surrounding areas.
Q. Where did your organizations funding/capital come from and how did you go about getting it? How did you obtain investors for your venture?
Ans: Listened to my parents and saved money to start my own business. Close relationships with the bank.
Q. What is the best way to achieve long-term success?
Ans: Being involved in the community, do quality work, maintain relationships in chambers and other organizations, taking care of your team and the customers. Hire a strategic consultant to help keep you accountable and set attainable goals.

Ans: 2 + million – double where we are now
