Ans: LSA Security was established in 2005. We specialize in low-voltage integration and offer a wide range of services including installations, repairs, and break-fix solutions across various trades such as Audio/Video, CCTV, Alarm, Locksmithing, and Access Control. Although our headquarters are located in Carlsbad, CA, our dedicated team is spread across multiple sites, enabling us to provide exceptional service throughout the United States and its territories.
Q 2. What inspired you to (start a new business venture) or (to make significant changes in an existing business)? How did the idea for your business come about?
Ans: While working as a field technician for another company, it dawned on me that I could use my skillset to expand across multiple markets. Additionally, I am fortunate to have received invaluable guidance from my esteemed father-in-law, who imparted his wisdom regarding the intricacies of the business world and the dire consequences that can arise from poor financial decisions made by company owners. Motivated by my experience and the unwavering support of my family, I was inspired to move forward with the establishment of LSA Security. Despite the fact that our range of services has expanded beyond security, which was our initial focus, I have chosen to retain the name as it holds significant sentimental value as our starting point.
Q 3. What three pieces of advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs?
Ans: Don’t be afraid to start small, you don’t need to have a huge infusion of cash, loans, partners or investors to start your own business. It may take a bit longer but it will be worth it in the end.
Q 4. What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?
Ans: Ingenuity, determination and the ability to pivot.
Q 5. How many hours do you work a day on average?
Ans: When I started, it was a 24/7 job, just like taking care of a newborn at home. There’s always something that’s required. However, nowadays, I’m able to step away from LSA and pursue other ventures. Although I work throughout the day, on average, I mainly oversee our management team. However, this took time and having the right team in place.

Ans: I believe that your level of success is determined by the people you choose to surround yourself with. I am fortunate to have a highly capable team that consistently surpasses client expectations through their hard work and commitment. From our Dispatchers to our Project Managers and Field Technicians, we are proud to have the best individuals representing LSA Security.
Q 7. How do you go about marketing your business? What has been your most successful form of marketing?
Ans: One of the most effective marketing strategies employed by our company is the delivery of exceptional service to our valued clients. As a result, they enthusiastically share their positive experiences with others, which has been the primary driver of our business growth. While we do have a dedicated marketing team that focuses on enhancing our online and social media presence, the power of word-of-mouth referrals cannot be underestimated. The unwavering dedication of our team and the high-quality work we consistently deliver serve as a testament to our commitment to excellence.
Q 8. Where did your organizations funding/capital come from and how did you go about getting it? How did you obtain investors for your venture?
Ans: We’ve grown slowly over time, organically with zero debt or investors. It’s something we’re very proud of here at LSA and allows us to service our clients unencumbered. I’ve worked with companies that can’t make a move without a partner meeting or to review with their investors. It’s not how I chose to run my business, I’d rather be ready to engage new clients whenever needed.
Q 9. What is the best way to achieve long-term success?
Ans: Pretty simple- offer a quality product/ service at a competitive rate and actually follow through with your commitments and promises to your clients and vendors.
Q 10. Where you see yourself and your business in 5 – 10 years?
Ans: We’d like to be a much larger player in our industry, engaging with both other companies in the field as well national clients. We’d like to be the go-to for our services.
Q 11. Excluding yours, what company or business do you admire the most?
Ans: Amazon is an impressive ‘monster’, especially their customer service model a few years ago (it appears to be more outsourced now), even though, they try to really take care of their customers, which is impressive since they have cornered the market globally, it says they try because they want to, not because they have to.
