I’m Todd Thomasson, founder and owner of Turf’s Up. I’ve spent years developing expertise in landscaping and lawn care, building a reputation around attention to detail, reliable service, and getting real results for our clients.
What inspired you to start your business?
I saw a need in our community for dependable lawn care that people could trust. Turf’s Up was created to fill that gap by offering straightforward, professional service without gimmicks.

Typically, I put in around 10 to 12 hours per day. Running a business isn’t a 9-5 job.

Success comes down to consistent quality, treating customers right, and never taking shortcuts.
How do you market your business?
We rely heavily on digital marketing, especially SEO and Google Ads. Word-of-mouth and referrals from satisfied customers have also been critical.
Where did your funding come from?
We self-funded our growth. I didn’t bring in investors; instead, we reinvested early profits to build the business gradually.
Best way to achieve long-term success?
Stay focused on quality and relationships. Good service builds trust, and trust brings repeat business.
Where do you see yourself and your business in 5-10 years?
I see Turf’s Up continuing to grow sustainably, expanding our services and becoming the go-to name for quality lawn care in Northern Virginia.
