1. Please introduce your business.

KMayer is a boutique IT services firm specializing in end-to-end infrastructure management for business clients. Our services range from IT infrastructure solutions, cloud services, cybersecurity, and 24/7 maintenance to automation, process optimization, virtualization, and advanced big data projects.
Our headquarters are in Sofia, Bulgaria, with an additional operations center in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. We proudly serve clients across Europe, with a strategic focus on both Northern and Southern European markets.

2. Brief description of yourself.

My name is Barak Kirmayer, Founder and CEO of KMayer. With over 15 years of experience in IT infrastructure, I have built my career around Microsoft environments, complex system integrations, and advanced cybersecurity solutions. I’ve successfully led large-scale infrastructure projects and system migrations for highly sensitive environments, including public sector institutions, defense organizations, and large enterprises.
Some of my key achievements include establishing advanced service centers, implementing automation to enhance IT operations, and introducing tailored solutions to meet the evolving needs of modern businesses.

3. What inspired you to start KMayer?

KMayer was born out of a clear market gap — the need for businesses to have a single trusted partner for comprehensive IT infrastructure management, combining technical expertise, rapid response, and strategic guidance. Businesses today need more than just service providers; they need proactive partners who anticipate challenges and deliver holistic solutions aligned with their business goals. This philosophy drove me to build KMayer.

4. Three pieces of advice for budding entrepreneurs.

  • People come before technology. Build strong teams and trusted relationships with clients.
  • Be adaptable. What works today may be obsolete tomorrow — stay ahead of the curve.
  • Plan long-term but act fast. Success requires balancing strategic vision with rapid execution.

5. Top three skills for entrepreneurial success.

  • Decision-making under uncertainty.
  • Crisis management and time optimization.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

6. Average working hours per day.

On average, between 12 to 14 hours, especially during critical projects or transitions.

7. To what do you attribute your success?

A combination of personal commitment, technical excellence, and a deep understanding of client needs. We don’t just offer services — we build partnerships that enable clients to operate more efficiently and securely.

8. Marketing strategies and the most successful method.

Our marketing approach blends thought leadership content (articles, case studies, video explainers), participation in industry events, and direct outreach to decision-makers.
However, our most powerful marketing tool has always been client referrals, which stems from consistently delivering value.

9. Source of funding.

KMayer was self-funded, and built on experience, reputation, and client trust. The initial growth came through reinvestment from early projects, without external investors.

10. Best way to achieve long-term success.

Consistency, adaptability, and delivering real value. Trust takes years to build but is the foundation for lasting success.

11. Where do you see yourself and KMayer in 5-10 years?

We aim to establish KMayer as a leading European player in IT infrastructure management and cybersecurity, expanding into additional European regions while maintaining our core values of flexibility, client focus, and technical excellence.

12. Excluding your own, which company do you admire most?

I greatly admire companies like Microsoft and Cisco for their ability to innovate at scale while maintaining operational reliability and global influence.
