3 – Q) What inspired you to (start a new business venture) or (to make significant changes in an existing business)? How did the idea for your business come about?

A) I have always had an entrepreneurial mindset. Ever since I wanted to be a doctor, I also thought i’d be a business owner, or a partner in a business. Prior to starting Kore, I worked in a very similar medical practice. I love practicing this type of medicine, so I opened Kore in a similar style to the medical practices that I had worked at in the past. I combined many styles and things that I believed to be working with patient care and running a business in the past, and made it into Kore.

4 – Q) What three pieces of advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs?

A) Do it! It’s not easy, but if it’s something you love or something you are passionate about, you won’t regret the decision to move forward with it.

5 – Q) What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?

A)

  • Perseverance
  • Determination
  • The ability to make decisions quickly
  • Having strong values

6 – Q) How many hours do you work a day on average?

A) 24

7 – Q) To what do you most attribute your success?

A) Having a supportive family/spouse and having major determination and a high value system

8 – Q) How do you go about marketing your business? What has been your most successful form of marketing?

A)

  • Word of mouth
  • I haven’t found that paid marketing or marketing companies have helped

9 – Q) Where did your organization’s funding/capital come from and how did you go about getting it? How did you obtain investors for your venture?

A) I took out a business loan, I did not seek outside investments

10 – Q) What is the best way to achieve long-term success?

A) One step forward at a time. And don’t get stuck in something that isn’t working. Be ok with pivoting and don’t hold too strongly to an idea that isn’t moving the business forward

11 – Q) Where you see yourself and your business in 5 – 10 years?

A) My business will continue to grow. It will become a place where people gather to find high quality holistic medical care, and where true healing can happen. People will come from all over the world and spend 1-2 weeks in their healing journey, allowing the doctors to get to know their patients better, and allowing patients to escape some of the stressors of their life to focus on their own personal growth. There is extreme value in the doctor-patient relationship that is completely taken away and destroyed in our current medical system. Insurance companies force doctors to spend minimal time with their patients and force them to only address “one issue” per visit. This isn’t good for patients or for doctors, and doesn’t allow for true healing to take place.

12 – Q) Excluding yours, what company or business do you admire the most?

A) I tend to admire businesses that start from ground, up. That work hard to achieve success and that do something slightly against the norm. Swimming upstream is HARD…and is also what has bigger impact and change. I also admire companies with a clear, impactful mission who truly want to do good for others and their community, and who are not just focused on “profits over people”.
