Ans: Full-service painting contractor located in Kansas City, MO. We serve residential and commercial clients with interior and exterior projects. We specialize in painting, staining, cabinet finishes and epoxy flooring.
Q 2. Kindly give us a brief description about yourself (it should include your brief educational or entrepreneurial background and list some of your major achievements).
Ans: I earned my Associates degree from Blue River Community College and gained more education from UMKC’s Block School of Business. I also won the Missouri state contest in wood working where I build quality furniture.
Q 3. What inspired you to (start a new business venture) or (to make significant changes in an existing business)? How did the idea for your business come about?
Ans: At an early age and with my wood working abilities, I was approached to join a painting crew for summer work. My talents and eye for detail quickly gained referral business. My continued education and accreditations in my field helped me grow my own business and expand into multiple facets in commercial and residential applications.
Q 4. What three pieces of advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs?
Ans: You need perseverance – don’t give up but just keep moving forward. Networking is a major component of growing a business. Ask question
s, watch and listen. Build supplier relationships. Get educated on contracts and know how to protect yourself. Continually educate yourself on products and applications.
Q 5. What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?
Ans: Leadership, organizational skills and be a self-starter.

Ans: 12 hour days.

Ans: Desire and drive.

Ans: Word of mouth referrals are the best. Build a website that works for you.

Ans: I started with very little, just the basics. I reinvested my income for better tools and equipment.

Ans: You need a plan with goals that are measurable.
Q 11. Where you see yourself and your business in 5 – 10 years?
Ans: In the short-term, I plan to keep a steady operation with slow growth that includes cross-training key employees so that in the longer-term future, I can operate my business without daily direction.

Ans: I admire a relative’s business in the technology field. I have watched him go from a completely different business in the auto industry to watch him explode into a publically traded corporation in the technology field.
