“We Treat Your Home Like Our Own”: Joe Lauer on Building NV Construction LLC on Faith, Family, and Integrity
Alexander Martin

Kindly give our readers an introduction to your business. Please include what your business is all about, in which city you are located and if you have offices in multiple locations/ cities.

  • NV Construction LLC is a family-owned and operated home remodeling company proudly serving Kernersville, North Carolina, and the surrounding Piedmont Triad communities, including Winston-Salem, Greensboro, High Point, Lexington, Clemmons, and many neighboring areas.
  • At NV Construction, we believe that your home is one of your most important investments, and our mission is simple: deliver exceptional craftsmanship, honest pricing, and outstanding customer service while treating every home as if it were our own.
  • We specialize in bathroom remodeling, custom acrylic walk-in showers, tub-to-shower conversions, custom tile showers, kitchen renovations, luxury vinyl plank flooring, interior painting, and complete home remodeling projects. Whether our customers are looking to modernize an outdated bathroom, create a safer and more accessible shower, or completely transform their living space, our goal is to bring their vision to life with quality materials and professional workmanship.
  • One area we are particularly passionate about is helping homeowners create safer, more functional bathrooms without sacrificing style or affordability. Our custom shower systems offer beautiful, easy-to-maintain surfaces, low-threshold entries, slip-resistant flooring options, and accessibility features designed to accommodate homeowners of all ages.
  • What truly sets NV Construction apart is our personal approach. As a local, family-owned business, we’re not interested in treating customers like another number. We take pride in building lasting relationships through clear communication, dependable service, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction. We also work with licensed trade professionals when specialized plumbing, electrical, or other services are required.
  • Although we serve homeowners throughout the Piedmont Triad, our business is based in Jamestown, North Carolina, and we operate throughout the surrounding communities rather than maintaining multiple office locations.
  • Our company continues to grow thanks to the trust of our customers, their referrals, and the positive experiences they share with others. To us, success isn’t simply measured by how many projects we complete, but by the relationships we build and the pride homeowners feel when they see their finished renovations.
  • At the end of the day, we want homeowners to know that quality remodeling doesn’t have to come with an unreasonable price tag. We believe everyone deserves a beautiful, comfortable, and functional home.
  • Our motto says it best: “We treat your home like our own.”

Kindly give us a brief description about yourself (it should include your brief educational or entrepreneurial background and list some of your major achievements).

  • About Me – Joe Lauer, Owner of NV Construction LLC
  • I was born and raised in the Piedmont Triad of North Carolina, and I have proudly worked in the construction and remodeling industry for over 20 years. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work with several remodeling companies, gaining valuable hands-on experience, developing my skills, and learning the many different aspects of the construction business.
  • However, some of the most important lessons I learned weren’t just about construction techniques or craftsmanship. They were about how customers should—and should not—be treated.
  • Over the years, I witnessed situations where profits were prioritized over customer satisfaction, homeowners were taken advantage of because they lacked construction knowledge, and poor workmanship left families dealing with problems long after a project was supposedly finished. Seeing these situations firsthand had a lasting impact on me. I knew there had to be a better way to do business.
  • That realization became one of the driving forces behind establishing NV Construction LLC, a family-owned and operated remodeling company built on honesty, integrity, affordability, and respect for our customers and their homes.
  • I wanted to create a company where homeowners could feel confident that they were receiving honest recommendations, fair pricing, quality materials, and workmanship that we would proudly stand behind. Most importantly, I wanted our customers to feel valued and respected throughout the entire remodeling process.
  • One of my proudest achievements has been turning more than two decades of industry experience into a family-operated business that reflects my personal values. Building a company that earns the trust of local homeowners, receives positive customer reviews, and generates referrals through quality work and customer satisfaction means more to me than any sales number.
  • Another accomplishment I’m particularly proud of is helping homeowners throughout the Piedmont Triad transform outdated spaces into beautiful, functional, and safer living environments while keeping affordability at the forefront.
  • Being born and raised in this community makes our work even more meaningful. These aren’t just customers to me; they’re our neighbors, friends, and fellow community members. I take personal pride in knowing that our company is helping improve homes and build lasting relationships right here in the place I have always called home.
  • My philosophy has always been simple: Do the right thing, treat people fairly, take pride in your work, and never forget that you’re being trusted with someone’s home.
  • That belief is the foundation of NV Construction LLC and the reason behind our company motto:
  • “We treat your home like our own.”

What inspired you to (start a new business venture) or (to make significant changes in an existing business)? How did the idea for your business come about?

Play off of above

What three pieces of advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs?

Three Pieces of Advice for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

1. Build Your Business on Honesty, Integrity, and Trust.

  • My first piece of advice is to always do the right thing, even when nobody is watching. Never put profits ahead of your customers or compromise your values just to make a sale. Your reputation is one of the most valuable things you will ever build, and once that trust is broken, it can be difficult to earn back. Treat people fairly, be transparent, stand behind your work, and always remember that your customers are placing their trust in you. A strong reputation is built through actions, not just words.

    2. Never Stop Learning, Take Pride in Your Work, and Never Sacrifice Quality for Speed.

  • After more than 20 years in the construction industry, I can confidently say that there is always something new to learn. One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is the importance of patience and attention to detail. Never rush a project simply to move on to the next one. Rushing leads to mistakes, overlooked details, unnecessary expenses, and problems that could have been avoided by taking the time to do things correctly.
  • I firmly believe that it’s better to take a little extra time to do something right the first time than to spend twice as much time correcting it later. This philosophy applies not only to construction but to every aspect of running a successful business. Stay committed to improving your skills, learn from your mistakes, and never allow shortcuts to compromise the quality of your work or the trust of your customers.

    3. Focus on Building Relationships, Not Just Making Money.

  • One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned throughout my career is that long-term success comes from the relationships you build. Whether you’re working with customers, employees, or business partners, treat everyone with honesty, fairness, and respect.
  • At NV Construction LLC, we’re a family-operated company, and we want our customers to feel like they’re part of that family. We don’t look at homeowners as just another sale or another project. We recognize that their home is one of their most valuable investments, and we have a responsibility to respect and protect it.
  • When you genuinely care about people, communicate openly, deliver quality workmanship, and follow through on your promises, your reputation will speak for itself. The referrals, repeat customers, and financial success will naturally follow.

    My Final Advice:

  • If I could leave aspiring entrepreneurs with one message, it would be this: Don’t chase success so quickly that you lose sight of what made you start in the first place. Work hard, stay humble, be patient, and take pride in everything you do. Never sacrifice your integrity or the quality of your work just to make an extra dollar.
  • Success isn’t measured solely by how much money you make. It’s measured by the reputation you build, the people you help, and the positive impact you leave on your community.
  • At NV Construction LLC, we live by a simple motto that reflects these values: “We treat your home like our own.”

What Are the Top Three Skills Needed to Be a Successful Entrepreneur?

1. Knowledge, Experience, and a Willingness to Keep Learning.

I believe one of the most important skills an entrepreneur can have is a strong understanding of the industry they’re working in. Having spent over 20 years in construction and remodeling, I’ve learned that knowledge comes not only from experience but also from being willing to learn, adapt, and improve every day.

In the construction industry, it’s important to understand the materials, techniques, processes, and challenges involved in every project. That knowledge allows you to make informed decisions, solve problems efficiently, and provide customers with honest, reliable recommendations.

You can’t expect to lead others successfully if you’re not willing to continuously educate yourself and improve your own skills.

2. Patience, Communication, and Understanding Your Customers.

Patience is one of the most valuable qualities any business owner can develop, especially when working directly with homeowners. Remodeling can be a major investment, and many customers aren’t familiar with the construction process. They may have questions, concerns, or difficulty making decisions, and that’s completely understandable.

I’ve learned that taking the time to listen, explain the process, and help customers feel comfortable with their decisions makes a tremendous difference.

At NV Construction, we understand that we’re not simply working on a construction project; we’re working inside someone’s home. That requires patience, respect, clear communication, and a willingness to address concerns without making customers feel rushed or pressured.

A successful entrepreneur doesn’t just know how to talk to customers; they know how to listen to them.

3. Integrity, Accountability, and Pride in Your Work.

Above everything else, I believe integrity is what separates a business that simply makes money from one that earns long-term respect and success.

Throughout my career, I’ve seen firsthand how cutting corners, rushing projects, and prioritizing profits over quality can negatively affect homeowners. Those experiences helped shape the values I wanted to establish when building NV Construction LLC.

Integrity means doing what you say you’re going to do, being honest even when it’s difficult, taking responsibility when something goes wrong, and never sacrificing quality just to finish a project faster.

I strongly believe that your work should reflect your character. If you’re going to put your name on something, make sure it’s something you’re proud to stand behind.

My Final Thoughts

After more than two decades in the construction industry, I’ve learned that successful entrepreneurship isn’t just about having a great business idea or making money. It’s about having the knowledge to make good decisions, the patience to build meaningful relationships, and the integrity to consistently do what’s right.

Knowledge builds confidence. Patience builds relationships. Integrity builds trust.

When you bring all three together, you’re not just building a successful business; you’re building a reputation that can last for generations.

That’s the foundation we’ve worked to establish at NV Construction LLC, and it’s why our motto means so much to us:

“We treat your home like our own.”

How many hours do you work a day on average?

To What Do You Most Attribute Your Success?

  • First and foremost, I give all the glory and thanks to Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. My faith has been the foundation of my life and has guided me through the challenges, opportunities, and decisions that come with building and operating a business. I firmly believe that without God’s guidance, strength, and blessings, we would not be where we are today.
  • Secondly, I attribute much of our success to our incredible family, who has stood beside us and supported us throughout this entire journey. Building a business requires hard work, dedication, sacrifice, and perseverance. There have been challenges along the way, but having a family that believes in our vision and continues to encourage us has made all the difference. NV Construction LLC is a family-operated business, and those family values are at the heart of everything we do.
  • Finally, I owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to our local community and the loyal customers who continue to support and trust us with their homes. Being born and raised in the Piedmont Triad, it means a great deal to me to serve the same communities that have been part of my life for so many years.
  • Every customer who chooses NV Construction, every homeowner who calls us back for another project, every positive review, and every referral to a friend or family member is something we never take for granted. Their continued trust and support are what allow our family business to grow.
  • I believe true success isn’t measured solely by financial achievements, but by the relationships we build, the families we help, and the positive difference we make in our community.
  • At the end of the day, I attribute our success to three things: God’s blessings, the unwavering love and support of our family, and the incredible customers and community who continue to believe in us.
  • We are truly grateful for every opportunity we’ve been given, and we look forward to continuing to serve our community with honesty, integrity, and quality workmanship.
  • God has blessed us with the opportunity to build this business, our family has given us the strength to keep moving forward, and our customers have given us the opportunity to succeed.
  • That’s something I will always be thankful for.

How do you go about marketing your business?

Right now we’re hoping that you’re gonna fix all of our marketing needs

What has been your most successful form of marketing?

  • We are hoping you, but other than that Angie’s list and referrals have been spectacular. We have never been good at Google and Facebook so we hope you can keep up with your end.

Where did your organizations funding/capital come from and how did you go about getting it? How did you obtain investors for your venture?

What Is the Best Way to Achieve Long-Term Success?

I believe the best way to achieve long-term success is by building your business on a strong foundation of faith, honesty, integrity, hard work, and genuine respect for others.Success doesn’t happen overnight, and it certainly doesn’t come without challenges. It takes patience, dedication, perseverance, and the willingness to continuously learn and improve.

After more than 20 years in the construction industry, one of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is that your reputation is worth far more than any single sale or project. You can spend years building a good reputation and lose it very quickly by making the wrong decisions. That’s why I believe in doing what’s right, even when it’s not the easiest or most profitable choice.

At NV Construction LLC, we focus on building lasting relationships rather than simply completing projects. We take the time to listen to our customers, understand their needs, communicate openly, and deliver quality workmanship at a fair price. I strongly believe that rushing through a project or cutting corners to increase profits will eventually cost you more than taking the time to do things correctly the first time.

Another important part of long-term success is surrounding yourself with good people and never forgetting those who helped you along the way. Our family, our team, and the loyal customers throughout the Piedmont Triad have all played an important role in helping our business grow. Their continued support reminds me every day why we started this journey.

Most importantly, I believe in keeping God at the center of everything we do. My faith in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, has taught me the importance of humility, gratitude, perseverance, and treating others the way I would want to be treated.

My philosophy is simple: Never let the pursuit of success cause you to compromise the values that helped you achieve it. Stay humble, keep learning, take pride in your work, treat people fairly, and always stand behind your promises.

To me, true long-term success isn’t about becoming the biggest company or making the most money. It’s about building something meaningful, earning the respect of your community, providing for your family, and creating a business that future generations can be proud of.

At NV Construction LLC, we’re not just working to build a successful business. We’re working to build a lasting legacy of trust, quality, and integrity.

And that all comes back to the promise we make to every customer:

“We treat your home like our own.”

Where you see yourself and your business in 5 – 10 years?

Where Do You See Yourself and Your Business in the Next 5–10 Years?

Over the next five to ten years, my vision for NV Construction LLC is to continue growing into a well-respected, trusted remodeling company throughout North Carolina while never losing sight of the values and principles that got us to where we are today.

Ideally, I would like to see our company expand to approximately three strategically located locations across North Carolina, allowing us to serve a larger number of homeowners while maintaining the personal attention, quality workmanship, and exceptional customer service that our customers have come to expect.

However, one thing I’ve learned throughout my 20-plus years in the construction industry is that bigger doesn’t always mean better. Growth is important, but growing too quickly or spreading ourselves too thin can lead to the very problems I wanted to eliminate when I started this company.

My goal isn’t to become the largest remodeling company in North Carolina. My goal is to become one of the most trusted and respected. I want every location to operate with the same family-oriented values, honesty, integrity, and commitment to customer satisfaction that we have established at NV Construction.

I also understand that as a company grows, it’s important to surround yourself with the right people. I want to build a team of skilled professionals and strong leaders who share our vision, take pride in their work, and understand that every homeowner deserves to be treated with respect. No matter how many locations we establish, I never want our customers to feel like they’re just another number.

I would rather grow at a steady, responsible pace and maintain our reputation than expand too quickly and sacrifice the quality of service our customers deserve.

On a personal level, I hope to continue building a business that my family can be proud of, one that creates opportunities for others, provides stable careers for our employees, and makes a positive impact in the communities we serve.

With God’s guidance, the continued support of our family, and the trust of our loyal customers, I believe we can accomplish these goals while staying true to who we are.

Ultimately, I don’t measure our future success by how many locations we open, but by how many families we help, how many relationships we build, and how well we maintain the trust of our customers.

Whether NV Construction has one location or three, our promise will always remain the same:

“We treat your home like our own.”

Excluding Your Own, What Company or Business Do You Admire the Most?

This is actually a difficult question for me because, throughout my career, I’ve witnessed both the best and worst sides of the business world. I’ve seen situations where corporate profits and financial growth seemed to take priority over customer satisfaction, honesty, and doing what’s right. Those experiences have shaped the way I view business and the values I believe are most important.

Rather than singling out one particular company, I have tremendous admiration for the hardworking, family-owned and locally operated businesses throughout the Piedmont Triad. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with several outstanding local businesses that have gone above and beyond to make sure my experience as a customer was a positive one.

What impresses me most about these businesses isn’t necessarily their size, revenue, or how recognizable their name might be. It’s their willingness to take the extra time to listen, provide honest recommendations, stand behind their products and services, and genuinely care about the people they serve.

To me, the most admirable businesses are those that understand their customers are people, not just transactions. They recognize that earning someone’s trust is far more valuable than making a quick profit.

I also have a great deal of respect for small-business owners who put in countless hours, make personal sacrifices, support their employees, and remain committed to serving their communities. Having built a family-operated company myself, I understand the dedication and perseverance it takes to keep a business moving forward while maintaining your values.

Those positive experiences have inspired me to carry the same principles into NV Construction LLC. I believe businesses should support one another, strengthen their local communities, and remember that their success depends on the people who place their trust in them.

If I had to sum it up, the businesses I admire most aren’t necessarily the biggest or the most profitable. They’re the ones that make you feel valued, keep their promises, and leave you wanting to do business with them again.

That’s the kind of reputation I respect, and it’s the kind of reputation I strive to build every day at NV Construction LLC.

How Important Have Good Employees Been to Your Success?

I firmly believe that good employees are the backbone of any successful business. You can have the best business plan, the highest-quality materials, and the greatest intentions, but without dependable, skilled, and trustworthy people representing your company, long-term success becomes extremely difficult.

At NV Construction LLC, we place tremendous importance on building a team of individuals who share our values of honesty, integrity, professionalism, and pride in their workmanship.

One philosophy I’ve always believed in is that if you cannot trust an employee to do the right thing when you’re not watching, then they’re not the right person for your team. Trust and accountability are essential, especially in the construction industry, where our employees are invited into customers’ homes and trusted with some of their most valuable possessions.

After more than 20 years in construction, I’ve learned that it only takes one careless decision, one act of dishonesty, or one poorly handled situation to damage a reputation that took years to build. That’s why we emphasize responsibility, attention to detail, and treating every customer’s property with the same respect we would expect in our own homes.

When it comes to hiring, we believe in evaluating individuals based on their skills, experience, work ethic, character, and willingness to learn.

We want people on our team who take pride in what they do, communicate honestly, respect our customers, and understand that their actions reflect not only on themselves but on the entire company.

I also believe that being a successful business owner means taking care of the people who help you succeed. Employees deserve to be treated with fairness, respect, appreciation, and the opportunity to grow professionally. When you invest in your team and lead by example, you create an environment where people want to do their best.

Our employees aren’t simply there to complete projects. They represent our family, our reputation, and the promises we make to every homeowner who chooses NV Construction.

Ultimately, I believe a business is only as strong as the people standing behind it. You cannot build a company based on trust and integrity unless those same values are shared by the people representing your name.

My philosophy is simple: Hire for skill and character, lead with respect, build a team you can trust, and never compromise your company’s values.

At NV Construction LLC, our success isn’t the result of one individual. It’s the combined effort of hardworking people who believe in doing things the right way.

And that’s how we continue to honor our promise: “We treat your home like our own.”

How Do You Build a Successful Customer Base?

  • I believe the foundation of building a successful customer base comes down to three essential principles: earning trust, delivering quality workmanship, and treating every customer with honesty and respect.
  • After more than 20 years in the construction industry, I’ve learned that customers aren’t simply looking for someone to complete a project. They’re looking for someone they can trust with their home, their investment, and their family’s comfort and safety.
  • At NV Construction LLC, we understand that earning a customer’s business is just the beginning. The real measure of success is whether that customer would trust us enough to invite us back into their home or recommend us to their friends and family.
  • One of the most important things we focus on is communication. We take the time to listen to our customers, understand their needs, explain their options, and help them make informed decisions without unnecessary pressure. Not every homeowner has an unlimited budget, and I firmly believe that quality remodeling should be accessible without taking advantage of someone’s lack of construction knowledge.
  • Another important factor is delivering on your promises. If you tell a customer you’re going to do something, follow through. Show up when you say you will, respect their property, maintain a clean and organized work environment, and never sacrifice quality for the sake of completing a project faster. I’ve always believed that doing the job correctly the first time is far more valuable than rushing through it and leaving someone else to deal with the consequences.
  • I also believe that how you handle challenges says just as much about your business as the finished product. Construction projects don’t always go exactly as planned, but when an issue arises, it’s our responsibility to communicate openly, take ownership, and work toward a proper solution. Customers don’t expect perfection in every situation, but they should always be able to expect honesty, accountability, and professionalism.
  • Being born and raised in the Piedmont Triad, I understand the importance of building a strong reputation within our local community. Word of mouth remains one of the most powerful forms of advertising. Every positive review, repeat customer, and personal recommendation represents someone who trusted us enough to put our name in front of another homeowner. That’s something I will never take for granted.
  • I also believe that customer relationships shouldn’t end when the final invoice is paid. Following up, standing behind your work, and being available when customers need assistance are important parts of building relationships that last for years.
  • At the end of the day, my philosophy is simple: Don’t focus solely on how many customers you can acquire. Focus on how many customers you can earn the trust of and keep for a lifetime.
  • A successful customer base isn’t built through advertising alone. It’s built one relationship, one promise, and one successfully completed project at a time.
  • At NV Construction LLC, we don’t want to simply be the company someone hires once. We want to be the company they remember, trust, and confidently recommend to the people they care about.
  • That’s the meaning behind our promise:
  • “We treat your home like our own.”

What Do You Feel Is the Major Difference Between Entrepreneurs and Those Who Work for Someone Else?

  • I believe one of the biggest differences between entrepreneurs and those who work for someone else is the level of personal investment, responsibility, and long-term vision that comes with owning a business. As an entrepreneur, you have what I like to call “skin in the game.” Your decisions, your reputation, and the quality of your work directly impact not only your livelihood but also the future of your family, your employees, and the customers who place their trust in you.
  • When you own a business, the responsibility doesn’t end when the workday is over. You’re constantly thinking about ways to improve, overcome challenges, support your team, and provide a better experience for your customers. Every decision matters because you’re not simply working for a paycheck; you’re working to build something meaningful that you hope will last for generations.
  • For me, NV Construction LLC represents much more than a business. It’s an opportunity to create a lasting legacy for my family while making a positive difference in the communities we serve. Being born and raised in the Piedmont Triad, I take personal pride in knowing that our company’s reputation reflects directly on me, my family, and the values we stand for.
  • I also believe that having a personal stake in the success of your business creates an additional level of accountability. When a customer has a concern, I don’t see it as someone else’s problem. I see it as my responsibility to make sure that concern is heard and properly addressed. When something doesn’t go as planned, you take ownership, find a solution, and learn from the experience.
  • That being said, I have tremendous respect for hardworking employees. Many employees demonstrate the same dedication, pride, and sense of ownership as entrepreneurs. In fact, those are exactly the kinds of individuals we strive to have on our team at NV Construction. A successful business cannot grow without people who genuinely care about their work and the customers they serve.
  • I believe the greatest difference is that entrepreneurs willingly take on the financial risks, personal sacrifices, and ultimate responsibility of building something of their own. Their success depends not just on completing today’s work, but on earning the trust and loyalty necessary to sustain their business for years to come.
  • After more than 20 years in the construction industry, I’ve learned that building a successful company isn’t simply about generating revenue. It’s about creating opportunities, supporting your family and employees, helping customers achieve their goals, and establishing a reputation that future generations can be proud of.
  • My ultimate goal isn’t just to build a profitable company. It’s to build a family legacy founded on honesty, integrity, exceptional workmanship, and genuine respect for others.
  • At NV Construction LLC, every project we complete and every relationship we build is another opportunity to strengthen that legacy.
  • And no matter how much our company grows, our commitment will remain the same:
  • “We treat your home like our own.”
  • The challenges,
  • my mind never stops, so I’m constantly trying to figure out a better way to do something.

What has been your most satisfying moment in business?

Watching this company grow by the grace of God and the dedicated family that helped me get there

What Kind of Culture Exists in Your Organization? How Did You Establish This Tone, and Why Did You Choose This Particular Culture?

  • At NV Construction LLC, our company culture is built on mutual respect, teamwork, accountability, and treating every customer’s home with the same care and consideration we would give our own. I firmly believe that a successful business starts with the way you treat your employees because happy employees create happy customers.
  • After spending more than 20 years in the construction industry, I’ve had the opportunity to experience different management styles and workplace environments. I’ve seen firsthand how a positive work environment can motivate employees to take pride in their work, and I’ve also witnessed how poor leadership, lack of respect, and unnecessary pressure can negatively affect both employees and customers.
  • Those experiences played a major role in shaping the culture I wanted to establish when we started NV Construction LLC.
  • My philosophy has always been simple: Treat your employees with respect, give them the tools and support they need to succeed, and they will be better equipped to provide exceptional service to your customers.
  • We strive to create an environment where our team members feel valued, appreciated, and comfortable communicating openly. I believe every employee deserves to be treated fairly, regardless of their position within the company. Everyone brings something valuable to the table, and when people feel respected, they’re more motivated to work together, take responsibility, and deliver quality results.
  • At the same time, respect comes with accountability. We expect our employees to demonstrate professionalism, honesty, and pride in their workmanship. When we enter a customer’s home, we’re entering their personal space, and that is a responsibility we take very seriously. Showing up on time, maintaining a clean work environment, protecting their property, communicating respectfully, and paying attention to the smallest details are all part of our company culture.
  • We also believe that quality should never be sacrificed for speed. I don’t want our employees feeling pressured to rush through a project simply to move on to the next one. I would much rather provide our team with the opportunity to complete a project correctly than have them cut corners and leave a homeowner dealing with unnecessary problems.
  • As a family-operated business, we want our employees to feel like they’re part of something meaningful, not simply another number on a payroll. We encourage teamwork, continued learning, personal responsibility, and supporting one another through challenges.
  • I established this culture by leading through example and making our expectations clear from the beginning. You cannot expect your employees to demonstrate respect, honesty, and integrity if you’re not willing to demonstrate those same qualities yourself. Leadership begins with your own actions.
  • Ultimately, I chose this type of culture because I believe the way a company treats its employees directly influences the way those employees treat its customers. When you create a positive environment built on mutual respect, your team takes greater pride in their work, your customers receive better service, and your company’s reputation grows stronger.
  • At NV Construction LLC, we’re not just building beautiful homes. We’re building a team that takes pride in its work, supports one another, and genuinely cares about the families we serve.
  • To me, that’s what a successful company culture should look like.
  • Happy employees create happy customers, and happy customers build a successful business.
  • It’s all part of the promise we make every day:
  • “We treat your home like our own.”

In one word, characterize your life as an entrepreneur.

  • Perseverance.

Do you believe there is some sort of pattern or formula to becoming a successful entrepreneur?

Faith in God and good morals

If You Could Talk to One Person From History, Who Would It Be and Why?

  • Without hesitation, I would choose Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
  • My faith has always been an important part of my life, and I believe there is no greater example of love, humility, compassion, sacrifice, and servant leadership than Jesus Christ.
  • If I had the opportunity to sit down and have a conversation with Him, I wouldn’t ask about wealth, fame, or worldly success. I would want to gain a deeper understanding of how to become a better man, a stronger leader, a more devoted family member, and someone who makes a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
  • Throughout my journey as an entrepreneur, I’ve learned that success comes with challenges, difficult decisions, and tremendous responsibility. I believe the teachings of Jesus remind us that true leadership isn’t about how many people serve you, but how many people you have the opportunity to serve.
  • That’s a principle I strive to carry into both my personal life and our family business, NV Construction LLC. Whether it’s treating our employees with respect, being honest with our customers, or helping someone who may be going through a difficult time, I believe our actions should reflect our faith and our values.
  • If I could ask Jesus one question, it would be: “How can I use the blessings and opportunities You’ve given me to make the greatest positive impact on my family, my community, and the people I encounter throughout my life?”
  • At the end of the day, I want to be remembered for more than building a successful company. I want to be remembered as someone who stood by his faith, loved his family, treated people fairly, and used the opportunities God provided to help others.
  • Because when everything is said and done, the legacy we leave isn’t measured by what we accumulate, but by the lives we touch and the good we do along the way.
