Executive Summary

Whitney | Whitney | Baldridge | Atkinson (WWBA) is a law firm offering legal services throughout Arizona. We handle criminal defense, divorce, child custody, child support, personal injury, probate, tax, estate planning, and guardianship services.

Kindly give readers an introduction to your business. Please include what your business is all about, in which city you are located, and if you have offices in multiple locations/ cities.

WWBA is a law firm handling many different kinds of cases, including criminal defense, family law, and estate planning. We have offices in Kingman, AZ, and Lake Havasu City, AZ, but our attorneys have worked in cities and counties across the state.

Give us a brief description of yourself (it should include your brief educational or entrepreneurial background and list some of your major achievements).

All of our attorneys have bachelor’s degrees and law degrees. Additionally, partner Broc Wickland has an advanced law degree, essentially a master’s degree from a law school, in tax law specifically.

What inspired you to (start a new business venture) or (make significant changes in an existing business)?

WWBA has been a very small law firm for over a decade. We’ve been expanding through word-of-mouth referrals and a good reputation in western Arizona. We wanted to expand our business by improving our online presence.

How did the idea for your business come about?

WWBA was formed in the late 2000s when Bryan Whitney decided to open the practice after several years as a criminal prosecutor.

Who has been your greatest inspiration?

Great attorneys in US history, like Abraham Lincoln or Earl Rogers.

What makes you different from other businesses in your industry?

Our attorneys pride ourselves on giving honest legal advice and giving every case the time, energy, and attention that it deserves.

To what do you most attribute your success?

Hard work and a fantastic team are crucial to our success.

What do you think is the best way to achieve long-term success in business?

Long-term success requires hard work, a good reputation in your community, and a team or coworkers that also believe in working hard to reach shared goals.

Where do you see yourself and your business in 5 – 10 years?

I see myself in this same business. Hopefully, we’ll continue to have a good reputation in the legal community while expanding our business to include more attorneys and staff members.

Who is your target demographic?

We want to market ourselves to people facing legal cases in Arizona–whether those cases are criminal, civil, family, or probate.

Please list 3-5 talking points about your business that you feel are most relevant to your target audience.

Our attorneys are not only experts in their areas of practice, they also know the local court system and attorneys. Our staff members are incredibly hard-working and care about each and every case. We are a small law firm with big law firm resources–in the form of connections to other legal professionals across the state and a breadth of experience that is rare among other law firms.

What are your overall thoughts on your industry? Any advice you could give people about your industry?

The legal field is filled with attorneys who will say anything to get someone to hire them. That is not this firm. We want to help people, even if that means telling a potential client he or she may be better served by another law firm or not seeking legal action at all.

Is your business involved with any charitable organizations, social causes, or non-profit work?

Yes, our law firm has donated to veteran-related causes many times over the years.

How do you give back and support your community?

We have donated to veteran-related causes and taken pro bono legal work over the years.

How important have good employees been to your success?

Incredibly important. Good, loyal employees make or break a business, and most of our employees have been incredible over the years.

What motivates you?

I am motivated by success, which usually comes after hard work and attention to detail.

How do you generate new ideas?

Most new ideas in this law firm come after discussions with the partners or associates. All of our attorneys are experienced, and group discussions with them are almost always useful.

What has been your most satisfying moment in business?

The most satisfying moments in my career have almost always come from success at the end of a case that I worked very, very hard to prepare for.

What is your greatest fear in business, and how do you manage fear?

I think the greatest fear for this law firm, like many businesses, is losing clients or developing a bad reputation.

If you could talk to one person from history, who would it be and why?

As a partner in a law firm, I’d want to speak to one of the greatest lawyers in American history: Abraham Lincoln.
