MojoCar took advantage of the recent developments in the smart-phone market to create a GPE-integrated travel service for people on the go. Whether one needs a car now or later – we offer convenience and more competitive prices than traditional car service companies. We are currently servicing the New York Metro area, but more locations/cities will be added to our network in the near future.
Kindly give us a brief description about yourself
I and my partner have 7 years of transport industry experience. We have successfully founded and operated a luxury car service company that has generated more than $1 million in sales over the past two years.
How did you decide on the location of your business?
We have been part of the New York transportation market for years. Due to its unique layout, culture and geography, New York is a prime market for point-to-point city rides. The airport pickups and drop offs is the major requirement by many and this segment until now has been largely left in the offline realm.
What ignited the spark in you to start a new business venture?
My experience in the transportation industry helped a lot. I realised that there should be a simplified and more convenient way for busy professionals to arrange their transportation. With our application they can tap once to book a car and tap once more to pay the bill. Also, we are introducing a great new way for licensed drivers to supplement their income without paying huge commission to limousine companies.
How do you build a successful customer base?
I believe that the successful customer base can be built only if you know the specifics of the target market. Also, you need to be loyal and stay connected to your clients.
How important have good employees been to your success?
Employees are the most important asset of every company as they can make or break a company’s reputation and profitability. It is because of them that we are able to cater to the needs of our clients. All of our drivers are licensed and experienced. They are required to provide bids without any hidden fees or charges.
What do you feel is the major difference between entrepreneurs and those who work for someone else?
The major difference between the two is that entrepreneurs take a much bigger risk. It is a total one man show. Starting from the scratch to building the empire takes a lot of courage. Though there are helping hands around, the management is single handedly done. They also take their work home. Every day, all the time.
In one word, characterize your life as an entrepreneur.
My life till date has not been less than an adventure. From the time I started to reaching a new height has been an overwhelming journey of learning and experience.
What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?
Three skills to become that perfect entrepreneur as according to me will be :
- Persistence.
- Flexibility.
- “Can do” attitude.
What is the best way to achieve long-term success?
I believe patience and persistence can take every business or individual a long way. Both these qualities have their own individual perspectives. They contribute individually to the growth and development of the business. Through the time not only have I adopted them as a part of my professional life but have also grown as a person in my personal life.
