A. We’re a Local Family and Veteran Owned Business serving a Home Style Healthy Breakfast and Lunch in Madison WI

Q. Kindly give us a brief description about yourself (it should include your brief educational or entrepreneurial background and list some of your major achievements).

A. 1984-1994 Army Veteran Owned Business. Volunteer Fire Fighter for about 2 years.
Brown College Le Cordon bleu Chief Degree in Mendota Heights MN Certified in Baking and Cooking.

Business Sales running in the Family. In Business Magazine Formally the Egg & I Executive Choice Award 2019 Top Restaurant. Neighborhood Annual Awards The Egg & I Neighborhood Favorite.

Anna Cooked for Multiple Families in many different countries.

Met Anna in 2012, Engaged 2013, got married in 2015. Manages the Restaurant with Steve.

Q. What inspired you to (start a new business venture) or (to make significant changes in an existing business)? How did the idea for your business come about?

A. After cooking for a few different restaurants Steve decided to Start his own Restaurant. Looked into different Franchises then saw The Egg & I. We felt that the Egg & I is a more High End Breakfast Lunch, Good culture, Serving Friends Daily Tag Line. Getting to know your customers.

Q. What three pieces of advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs?

A. Don’t Franchise, Make sure you have enough parking and Build don’t lease.

Q. What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?

A. Be open, Be Genuine, Be a good talker, Always sell your business everywhere.

Q. How many hours do you work a day on average?

A. About 10 hours

Q. To what do you most attribute your success?

A. To never give up or quite. Army Skills pay attention to detail. Have a good sense of humor. Take good care of your staff.

Q. How do you go about marketing your business? What has been your most successful form of marketing?

A. TV

Q. Where did your organizations funding/capital come from and how did you go about getting it? How did you obtain investors for your venture?

A. Asked around and found a good investor to see my dream.

Q. What is the best way to achieve long-term success?

A. Never give up. Look at your Numbers and know how to budget your business for success
